AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 2, 2026

Brooke Biermann

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Brooke, first of all, how did the course feel today versus yesterday? Did you notice any differences at all?

BROOKE BIERMANN: I didn't notice too many differences. I think it maybe was a little windier out there today, especially on my back nine, the actual front nine. A touch windy, but other than that, I felt like the course was, I mean, still in amazing shape, and the greens were rolling great.

Maybe a couple of tougher pins, a couple more gettable ones. Just overall, though, I felt like it was pretty similar.

Q. I know this is your first championship start. How does this course kind of compare to some of the others that you have played?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Yeah, I think this course reminded me actually a lot of different college courses that I had played down in the Carolinas. I feel like it's set up really well. The green speeds were probably a little quicker than a usual event, and I love that.

Yeah, overall, though, I really liked it. It reminded me a lot of Carolina golf, so...

Q. I know you are just below the projected cut line, but something unique, of course, Augusta National allows everyone to play the practice round. What do you kind of most excited about or looking forward to with that tomorrow?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Yeah, I mean, it stings definitely to miss it by one, but I will say you still get to wake up and play Augusta tomorrow, so life is good. I've got my family here. We're going to enjoy the day, take it all in, and it's going to be worth it, so yeah.

Q. Speaking of family, I wanted to touch on that with you. I know you obviously have your dad on the caddie bag. Why was that important for you to have him on the bag?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Oh, so important. I think having my dad on the bag is, you know, someone I trust. He knows my game well. He knows me very well, of course, just watching me grow up.

It's so nice to have him out there. I trust him. I trust his reads. I trust his numbers. So we work well together.

Q. How would you describe the bond between you and your father?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Oh, very close. I would say there's a lot of golf dads out here that have helped their daughters get to where they are, but today I think that we still worked really well together and stayed patient out there. Did every putt drop? No, but we still worked hard and had a good time out there. It will be memories I know I'll have forever, so...

Q. You had a bright yellow golf ball. That was in remembrance of your grandfather, correct? Why was that important for you to have those yellow golf balls? What does it mean to you to represent him out there?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Yeah, I love playing. It's definitely a unique thing to play the yellow golf ball, but I love it. My grandpa gave me those when I started my first golf tournaments, and so every time I tee it up, I feel like he's with me. Yeah, I think I'm going to do that probably forever.

Q. Do you feel like he was with you today?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Yeah, I feel like he always is, yeah.

Q. I noticed your sister was here today as well. What does her support mean to you given everything she's been through as well?

BROOKE BIERMANN: It was awesome. She was rooting for me the whole day. On my 10th hole I holed out from the bunker, and I looked back there, and she was jumping up and down.

So just having her with me is amazing and having her, you know, along for the ride. This is her community, too. I mean, she knows probably more people here than I do. She loves it, so...

Q. Brooke, this is kind of the end of the line, right, as far as amateur golf. You turn the page pretty soon.

BROOKE BIERMANN: Yes.

Q. Play in California in like a week or two. Did you get flashbacks at all to a point earlier in your childhood playing golf, or what moment do you look back on most fondly about?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Good question. I feel like there was a lot of great memories. I love being an amateur golfer, and that's why playing in this was something I've always wanted to do.

I love being an amateur playing in the highest level you can. I'll always remember my first tournament. It was just a little nine-hole local tournament, but you know, it was the start of something so fun that my family was able to come along for the ride with me.

It's not ending. Pro golf is still fun, but being an amateur took me to some amazing places and played with an amazing Michigan State golf team. There are just so many great things that I'll take with me for the rest of my life.

Q. People always say pro golf can be kind of lonely sometimes. How are you equipped -- when you think about Ashley and your parents and your boyfriend, how well equipped are you to be lonely out there?

BROOKE BIERMANN: It is. Going from a team, I will say, to being out there alone is definitely I think a big change. I think a lot of professionals will say so themselves, that it is a bit of an adjustment.

You know, I feel like -- my dad and I always joke. It's the same cast of characters wherever you go, so I feel like there's going to be some older -- girls I know that are older than me out there which I know, which is nice, but also, I know my family will be able to travel with me.

They've sacrificed so much already to be with me wherever I go. I know that they'll be rooting for me, whether I'm here or at home -- or here or they're at home, sorry.

Q. Going back to your dad on the bag really quick, can you tell us comparing it to past experiences with other caddies? Do you feel differences in your game or your mindset going out there with him right by your side?

BROOKE BIERMANN: Oh, for sure. I think we work so well together. I have had some local caddies before. It's worked out okay, but I feel like my dad knows my game so well. He knows how to refocus me. He knows how to push me and support me when I'm out there.

Having him caddie for me these first two days was a no-brainer. I was, like, all about it. He just knows me so well, so yeah.
