Q. Here with Miyu Yamashita after her first round of the Aramco Championship. First time playing Shadow Creek. What were your impressions of the course as you played today?

MIYU YAMASHITA: (Through translation.) So the course is really hard and there are a lot of doglegs so you can't always hit driver off the tee. With the firm condition it makes it even tougher, so the greens are firm and the fairways are firm, too.

The ball travels farther than expected so judging distance a tricky. But I could birdie on the par-5 so it was nice round.

Q. Also had the eagle on the par-5 as well. Was there anything in particular about the par-5s that you did well or that you saw from them that allowed you to score so well?

MIYU YAMASHITA: (Through translation.) My first tee shot was really good and second shot I could land very nice place, so that's why I could make a birdie on that hole.

Q. How good does it feel to get off to a good start this week with a 5-under, especially on such a tough course like this?

MIYU YAMASHITA: (Through translation.) So the course is tough, but it's fun to figure it out. So there is always a chance of making bogey, but I want to play patience in golf.
