AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 1, 2026

Eila Galitsky

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Talk about your round a little bit. It started a little BIT slower, but on your back nine it really picked up.

EILA GALITSKY: Yeah, my tee shots just weren't going anywhere near where I wanted to today. Lost a couple of balls out there, but at least the putter was working. I saved, like, basically everything.

So it could have been a lot worse, but it also could have been a lot better, so yeah.

Q. You've been here a few times now, but now last year you were with a few of your fellow Gamecocks. Talk about just how different it is to be without them this year.

EILA GALITSKY: I mean, I wish, you know, a couple of more of my teammates were here. Definitely it feels a lot lonelier this year, but they're going to come out and hopefully cheer me on Saturday, yeah.

Q. What's your favorite part about just coming here near the backyard of where you went to college?

EILA GALITSKY: I mean, it's an easy drive. It's only an hour away. I was able to leave on Monday instead of having to come over on Sunday. I mean, unfortunately, we don't get to play here very often, so it's always very special to come and play over here.

Q. You're one of the most experienced golfers out here. You're in your fourth start. How much did you kind of lean back on that experience after your front nine today to kind of ground yourself, especially getting that eagle on 10?

EILA GALITSKY: Well, honestly, I know where not to miss it more, but obviously I didn't learn from any of that (smiling). I don't know. I just think the more you play out here, the more you get a good feel for the golf course.

Q. What's kind of the strategy going into tomorrow after today? What are some areas that you kind of bookmarked in your mind going into tomorrow?

EILA GALITSKY: Definitely tee shots. I'm going to get to the range and work on my tee shots, a couple of approach shots; but if I putted the way I putted today for tomorrow, I think it should be good.

Q. How does it feel to come here and represent the Gamecocks as a whole?

EILA GALITSKY: It feels great. My assistant coach was out here today, so you know, it feels more like home because everybody is cheering for us. Not everybody, but a lot of people are. It just feels great.
