AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 1, 2026

Andrea Revuelta

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Bogey start; was there anything going through your mind after that?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. I think I just hit a very bad first putt. I kind of wanted that birdie too much, and these greens are very tricky and very fast. Yeah, the first putt was pretty long. I had like a 15 feet for par going in the first hole and I didn't make it. It was a good putt. But yeah, I think going off that green, I was just like, stay calm, you know how to do this, and just don't let that affect how you're going to play your next 17 holes.

Q. Is that something that you've gotten better at over the years?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah, I would say, yeah, I think when you get better and better, you realize that the best chance you have to scoring a good round is letting your game actually show, and if you let your emotions get in the way and you're, like, how you're feeling in the moment change how you're going to play your golf, that's going to change your golf, and that's not your best golf.

I think, yeah, just staying very calm and making sure that you trust yourself and your own golf.

Q. Given this is only a 54-hole tournament, do you feel any more pressure to get off to a strong start at this event?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah, this event is very different than the format we normally play. I think I kind of view it as two separate tournaments. This is just two days where you need to -- any mistake can put you down. It's two days, and the field is the best there is in amateur golf. You need to make sure that your little mistakes, because there's going to be on the golf course through 18 holes, they don't make you not show your best golf and get to you because it's only two days, and you need to make sure those two days you play them as calm as you can.

Then Saturday is just a gift. It's so fun to be out there on Saturday, and even having the chance and giving yourself the opportunity to be up there and giving yourself the opportunity to lift that trophy up at the end of the week, yeah, it's what we want. I'm just going to try and create that opportunity for myself.
