AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

March 31, 2026

Andrea Revuelta

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Andrea, obviously coming off a good year last year, what are you kind of looking forward to this week after that?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. I'm just trying to take this same mindset that I came here with the first time I came here. I think I don't want to lose all the energy and all the innocence and like joy that I brought the first year coming here.

I want to step into the golf course and enjoy this tournament, because it's a tournament to enjoy. And, yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to.

Q. How important is that mindset for a week like this?

ANDREA REVUELTA: I think it makes a big difference. I think everything that surrounds this tournament can make you get caught up in like results. I mean, it's obvious that it's the best like amateur tournament there is in the whole year for us, and we all look forward to this week since the moment we putted that last putt on 18 last year.

So I think it's very important to stay calm and enjoy yourself because all the tension, all the nerves and all these like media and playing Augusta and everyone having their eyes on you, it can play you a bad time if you don't really, like, put that mindset.

Q. Obviously last year you had a front row seat to Carla winning. How cool was that just as a friend?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. I think it was amazing. I think that it really helped me understand what ANWA really is.

I mean, she plays great, and great golf has to be played to win this tournament. But there is something magical to ANWA, and there is something magical to Augusta National, and I definitely saw that magic happen last year with Carla. So I'm just happy to have witnessed that, and hopefully one of us gets it again.

Q. How much have you talked to her since?

ANDREA REVUELTA: I haven't talked much because she's now playing professional golf, and I wish her all the best. I mean, she's been -- we've grown up together playing golf, and it's very strange to be here and not see everyone's faces like other Spaniards and other teammates that I had that have passed on to professional golf.

But, yeah, I think that's good, too.

Q. What's it like having built-in friends and teammates when you're playing in a tournament like this, to have that comfort zone?

ANDREA REVUELTA: I mean, I think it makes all the difference. Even this is an individual event, and now being at Stanford we play so much team events. It's very weird or not -- I think it comes from within to kind of want to root for everyone. I mean you see them, even today seeing some people like walking past other fairways and my teammates from Spain or my teammates from Stanford, I always wave to them, because, you know, golf is a very individual sport. But it definitely helps to make it a team sport.

Q. What can you say about what Megha has done here playing in this?

ANDREA REVUELTA: I mean, Megha Ganne is just a legend. To be sharing a team and sharing a stage with her, it's just an honor for me. I can't believe she's my friend. Sometimes I honestly pinch myself.

I've grown very close to Megha. She's not only an amazing golfer. She's done so much for women's golf and for a lot of young kids here in the USA, and a lot of girls want to grow up to be her.

She's an icon, honestly. And I'm so lucky to be her friend, and I grow with her every single day, and I wish her all the best in this tournament. But she has done so much.

Q. What was your biggest takeaway from having played this event before to now?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. I think -- I mean, even today, walking the practice round for the third time now, it definitely makes a difference. These two golf courses that we play are very difficult, and not only knowing the golf course, but only feeling more comfortable in it, because when you come in at first, it's very kind of like shocking, and it's kind of scary. It's a very big stage. And you see all the cameras. And I mean, the golf course is prepared, like the greens are rolling really, really fast. They're very hard. So I think coming in here, third year, you're definitely more comfortable and it's not that scary.

Q. How do you balance -- you talked about that excitement level. How do you balance that excitement with the competitiveness when the rounds count?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Well, you just gotta accept that like it is going to get competitive and you are going to get nervous. I think that trying to avoid that is just not the way to go. I think that you need to accept the fact that you came here to compete, you came here to a tournament and you came here to get nervous.

And you need to accept that and breathe and just take it all in and just stick to your plan, stick to what you know and just keep your circle very with you. I think that helps me a lot, grounded, and just try to do your best, yeah.

Q. Stanford has had a great representation in this short tournament's history. What does it mean to be part of that group?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. It's an honor. I mean, wearing the Stanford logo, it's an honor. It's a dream come true for me. So I just think that, yeah, all the women that have gone through that program have ended up doing amazing things, not only in the golf world, but in the world in general.

So, yeah, I'm lucky to follow their steps and hopefully be part of that history, too.

Q. Last thing, just Spanish golf in general, obviously in this history has been well represented here. What does it mean, one, to represent Spain, but also to see all your teammates and countrywomen be able to compete professionally now, too?

ANDREA REVUELTA: Yeah. I think Spanish women's golf has a bright future ahead. There's so many young players that, I mean, there are a lot of amateur golfers that are pretty up there, and then there's a lot of women that are just turning pro and excited to become great professional players.

It's an honor, and it also gives me so much hope, because I've seen them play, and I know they can do great things and I'm sure they will.
