AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

March 31, 2026

Andie Smith

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. It's your second time playing in the Augusta National Women's Amateur. How excited are you to compete again?

ANDIE SMITH: Yeah, excited to be back. It's an event that we look forward to all year, so the practice round today, feeling good to go into the week, but once again, just excited to be back and enjoy it.

Q. What did you learn last year that you feel will help you going into this year's experience?

ANDIE SMITH: That's a good question. I think most of all, it was just being patient and savoring the moment of playing in one of the top fields in women's amateur golf. It's a privilege and an honor to be here, so really just embracing that experience and being patient.

Q. How is it to be able to play this -- you had a practice round with Rianne, one of your teammates. How is it to be able to play in this event with one of your teammates, having Rianne here?

ANDIE SMITH: Yeah, I love it. Rianne is such a wonderful person, teammate and friend and just every time I get to go out and play with her, we just have a great time. We enjoy each other's company. Definitely sad that I'm a senior now and won't get to have that as much, but having my brother on the bag, playing with Rianne today, it's just great to always have friends and family nearby.

Q. You mentioned your brother, having him on the bag. What does that mean to you to be able to have him with you, alongside you during this incredible event?

ANDIE SMITH: It's great. He balances me out. I think we complement each other quite well. He has had some experience this past summer caddying for me, and now going into this event, he has the job and just looking forward to laughing out there with him and embracing each other's company, enjoying it. It'll be a fun week for us.

Q. Last year you had a hole-in-one on the par-3. Where does that rank for you in your memories of golf?

ANDIE SMITH: I think it's probably at the top of my list, to get to say that I made a hole-in-one at Augusta National and it was caught on video and you can basically Google it on YouTube. It's pretty cool to say. I get asked about it a lot, which is awesome. It's just really cool to be able to say that.
