AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

March 31, 2026

Rianne Malixi

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Your first experience playing in the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Last year you were here but unfortunately weren't able to play. How excited are you to get to play this year?

RIANNE MALIXI: It's actually my third time being invited. I played 2024, withdrew last year, but I'm so glad to be back here again. Got to finish 18 holes of practice, unlike last year just playing three holes, and then really grateful and glad to be back here.

Q. How nice was it to play a practice round having your teammate Andie with you?

RIANNE MALIXI: Andie is amazing. She's a really good role model for all of us in the team, and I'm really glad to have played with her. She's a wonderful person, great person to hang around with. Yeah, I'm really happy about today's round with him.

Q. What does it mean to play in such an incredible event like the Augusta National Women's Amateur here?

RIANNE MALIXI: Well, this is the most prestigious amateur event I've ever played in my life. I'm soaking it in. Third time being invited is no easy feat, so I'll just do my best and treat it as any other tournament I play in, just really hit it shot by shot, and really focus on strategies around here.

Q. This spring you had your first individual win as a collegiate player and then had a couple of top-5 finishes, as well. How do you feel like your game is going right now leading into this event?

RIANNE MALIXI: I think my 2026 season is starting off on a really good start. A couple of top 3s and one win. It's a good start, so I'm seeing a lot of really good shots out here. It's a good opener for tomorrow's round, and hopefully I can take it tomorrow and the whole week perhaps.

Q. How do you feel like you've grown from your first time here to now, being a collegiate golfer now and it being your third time here?

RIANNE MALIXI: I've grown a lot, definitely. I remember I was 17 when I first played, and now I'm 19. My game definitely changed. I'm still growing as a person. There's definitely a lot of things to work on. But golf game-wise, I've gained more experience. I'm really grateful for the journey, and I'm really happy to be here again.

Q. What do you think the biggest difference is from you as a first-timer to now playing here for the third time?

RIANNE MALIXI: Well, I've seen the scenery already, so I won't be surprised or be in awe of just looking at the scenery. I'm here to play, so I'll be focusing on my own game and taking it shot by shot for this week.

Q. What are you most looking forward to this week?

RIANNE MALIXI: Getting on Augusta National, playing on the really beautiful golf course there. Hopefully I make the cut, and we'll see how that takes me.
