Q. All right, pleased to be joined by Ryann O'Toole in the flash area after her final you Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. 8-under 64 today. A lot of greens out there. A lot of circles on the card as well. Kind of just talk about the overall vibe from today.
RYANN O'TOOLE: You know, it's funny. It's like yesterday I stripped it on the range and went on the golf course and it wasn't that. I was like, okay. Then today it was like okay on the range but wasn't like striping it, and then I get out here it was going good.
I definitely missed two short putts with the putter and that's where my bogeys came from. So other than that, things are going great. I judge rust tried to really stay focus and patient and trust putting so it didn't get in my head.
I just feel like all week I've been burning edges. I would see to breaking left to right and it would break the other way. So you get frustrated, but trying to stay patient and figured a low round would come.
Glad it finally did.
Q. Looks like a hole-out eagle on 13.
RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah.
Q. Talk about that a little bit.
RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah, I mean, I hit a great drive down the fairway. I had 95 yards to the pin, so to me, like sand wedge goes 100, 104.
I was like, okay, I'll hit a three quarter chest to chest shot and hope it checks up and just get somewhat close. I watched it land and trickle and I'm like, please disappear; it did.
I was like, I love getting two.
Q. And then jumped up nearly 50 spots on the leaderboard as we stand right now.
RYANN O'TOOLE: Awesome.
Q. I talked to you a little bit at final stage of LPGA Q-Series about you kind of never want to be back there. You're in a good spot to never be back there if you keep playing like this.
RYANN O'TOOLE: Yeah.
Q. What did that tell you about your game being back there and translating it into the first couple events this year?
RYANN O'TOOLE: You know, golf is weird. Sometimes you have adversities that are thrown at you. I started the year off appendix had to come out during prep of offseason; then family member passing away. It's just like I just felt like there was constant snowballs that set you back emotionally, physically prepping, stuff like that.
Then you're playing catchup out here. You're like okay, I'm kind of behind the ball and the pressure starts coming. It was nice pre-Q school to kind of reset, work on the game, get focused, and then going out to Q-School and proving it. Because, yeah, I did not want to go back there. And do I ever want to go back again.
It gave me that confidence and the whole belief of I can contend out here and play out here. So then I just kept working on that that we worked on, Jorge and I in that offseason and nice to start the year off strong.
