FORD CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY WILD HORSE PASS

March 28, 2026

Lydia Ko

Chandler, Arizona, USA

Whirlwind Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, we are joined by Lydia Ko after her third round at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. 3-under round today; pretty steady. Talk about maybe the differences between not just that first round but yesterday and today.

LYDIA KO: Everything I hit pretty much went in the first day, and the last couple days I really haven't holed many putts.

For the most part it's been solid. The golf course is definitely getting a lot firmer, so I think there is just -- there is no gimmes in the sense I find it much more difficult to judge the speed and read the greens as well.

I think the course is playing a little bit more difficult than the first day. Hyo Joo is still shooting a million under par today, but I think overall it's been solid.

Hopefully I'll be able to kind of continue the good stuff the last three days into tomorrow and then hole a few more putts.

Q. You have a new putter in the bag this week. Might be a little bit of a honeymoon phase. The putter still feel pretty good right now?

LYDIA KO: Yeah. I think there is an adjustment period with any new golf club, any new equipment, but I think over the last couple days I realized, okay, how do I set this new putter up and just getting used to the characteristics and the nuances of the new putter.

The putter model is actually No. 12 for Scott Cameron. Maybe if it was 13 I might have shot 13-unedr par. No, it was the 12, and it's great. It was definitely some of the most putts I've holed in the span of the past few months. It was nice to have the different momentum.

I think today I felt like I rolled it really well. Just didn't hole any putts. I know that when I consistently roll it well then at some point it's going to fall. That's the mindset I've been taking on.

Yeah, I think I'm adjusting to setting up with this new putter. I do find it a little bit different. I think it rolls great and it feels a little bit more sturdy under pressure, so I -- even though it does take time to get used to it, I do like the change I made.

Q. A little bit windier this afternoon. Any holes significantly different from the first couple rounds?

LYDIA KO: I mean, like 17 they did move the tee forward, but I hit an 8-iron into the green for two and it's a par-5. The 11th I've only hit sand wedge and wedge the last couple days; today was a back pin but into the wind. I had to hit 8-iron.

It has played a little bit different. I think playing well the last couple days it did -- it was a little bit more of an advantage because I did feel like it was breezier this morning. Having played in less wind was obviously helpful for us.

I think for the most part this golf course has played pretty fair. There hasn't been drastic changes between morning and afternoon.

Yeah, you're just trying to take advantage of what you have in front of you.
