Quick Quotes
Q. No status or limited status coming in here so that finish is a huge deal.
DAVID LIPSKY: Massive. It's going to probably gets me into a few of the Signature Events or whatnot. It's a great week. I have no notes on that.
Q. Talk a little bit about your putt on 17.
DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, I mean it looked so fast downwind, downhill, down grain. I thought I hit a good putt, it just didn't travel, it wasn't as fast as I thought it would be.
Q. You were in the mix earlier this week, how do you keep up that motivation?
DAVID LIPSKY: Everything felt great, so I tried not to change things up too much. Had a good plan going into the week with my coach and with my caddie. So just stuck to it and played obviously played great.
Q. For you, when it's as bunched as it was, four guys, five guys, six guys at one point, does that change the dynamic as posed to going up against one or two down the stretch?
DAVID LIPSKY: Yes and no. Not on this course really because par especially this afternoon was a good score on any hole. I was just trying to make pars, hit as many greens as I could, give myself as many looks as I could. Unfortunately missed some of those, but overall it was a good day.
Q. Were you keeping track on the leaderboard?
DAVID LIPSKY: Oh, yeah.
Q. Or trying to stay in your zone?
DAVID LIPSKY: No, no. I saw what I had to do. I heard that roar Fitz had on the last.
Q. Coming out of the rough on 18, how tough a shot was that?
DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, it was tough to read the lie. My caddy and I thought it was going to jump a little bit, which it did. Luckily because it was the only way to get it close. So I took more club, I was just going to hit it probably 40 feet behind the pin and not really give myself a great look at birdie.
Q. Had you guys ever played before when you were on the European Tour, you and Matt played before?
DAVID LIPSKY: Oh, yeah, yeah. I knew Matt when he started Northwestern.
Q. How important is it to have great finishes like this earlier in the season?
DAVID LIPSKY: Oh, massive. Because it gets you into so many more events. You don't feel like you're behind the 8-ball, especially going into the summer. So this week was an awesome week and I'm really looking forward to seeing what events I get into the rest of the year and trying to play my way into those playoffs.
Q. Did you have any early season goals for yourself?
DAVID LIPSKY: Not necessarily, to be honest. I just started working with a new coach, so a lot of my focus was on the technical aspect. Things have started clicking, so I'm more performance based now, but yeah that's about it. It's no goals of like winning or anything like that.
Q. What specifically are you working on technically and what this week are you happy that you executed?
DAVID LIPSKY: A little bit of everything. My flighted shots have gotten a lot better, into the wind, which is really important out here. It's swirly and the wind was strong, so I managed my iron play pretty well.
Q. You said working with a new coach, who is that?
DAVID LIPSKY: Dana Dahlquist.
