Quick Quotes
Q. Brandt, it was a tough finish, can you sort of express your emotions and how you're feeling right now?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Obviously disappointed. Hung in there really well on the front nine. Stood on the 10th tee tied for the lead, which is all you can do. My swing left me on the back nine. I really struggled. I couldn't really find anything to go to to put the ball where I wanted to. This golf course, it's a perfectly designed golf course, if you get out of position it's going to punish you. All those putts I've been making all week dried up today. I hit a bunch of great putts, only hit one bad putt all week, and that was the short putt I missed on 12. Besides that, I couldn't get anything to go in. It's frustrating, it sucks, and all the good stuff this week kind of feels like I threw it away today. But that's part of golf, that's why I love this challenge, and I'll come back next week and try to figure out what I did wrong and try to fix it.
Q. Do you think part of that is just not having been in this situation for a long time?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I was really happy with my process today. Never felt nervous, never felt like I was uncomfortable with the situations I was in. Feel like my swing was a little bit off. This golf course can really make you pay. It's not like I hit any wild, awful shots, just constantly a slow drain. Miss a fairway here, miss a green there, and put the ball in the wrong spot and you're going to make bogeys. That's what I did on the back nine. Hung in there on the front nine. Just wish I could go back and tee off on 10 one more time.
Q. Do you feel like the first three and a half days are anything to build on?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I hope so, yeah. I'm really excited about my short game, really excited about my putter. I drove the ball, that being said, for me pretty well, I didn't really put myself in too many bad spots this week. My iron play was off. My wedge game was off. My iron play was off all week. I managed it pretty well, but this golf course, you're landing balls in spots two and three feet where you got to hit it, and mine wasn't good enough this week.
Q. Where next for you?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Houston next week. Excited to get down there and play a golf course completely different (laughing), I have to hit it far. But super grateful for the opportunity to go down there and play.
Q. You have the Presidents Cup coming up. Where is your focus and your mentality going into these next few months?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: My focus has been split all year. I want to make sure I play some good golf out here, but more importantly, I want to make sure I do a good job being Presidents Cup Captain. I'm watching, talking to the guys, and trying to see how they're playing. Excited to see Patrick play well today. Excited to see Xander play well today. It's going to be split. That's part of the great thing about being a captain still playing, I can be out here and kind much compete with 'em.
Q. So you're checking the leaderboard when you're on the course?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Absolutely. Not to see where I am, it's to see where everybody else is.
Q. Do you have an invite next week?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I do, yeah. Sponsor's. I think so. Yeah.
Q. Where are you with your number in getting?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I have no idea.
Q. Just kind of --
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I don't pay attention. I just show up where I can get in.
