FORTINET FOUNDERS CUP

March 20, 2026

Natasha Oon

Menlo Park, California, USA

Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining us after the second round of the Fortinet Founders Cup is Natasha Oon. Natasha, you had kind of a crazy scorecard today. How would you describe that?

NATASHA OON: It's golf. I didn't expect this round to happen, but I was riding so many waves and just having so much fun and having so many nerves out there to be honest.

I knew what this round meant, like making it to the weekend. My caddie out there was trying to belike, hey, just one shot at a time and whatever happens I'm really proud of you.

And then honestly it was really hot and when that eagle happened I had a surge of dopamine and I was like, hey, I'm cool. Let's go.

And then it was just trying to ride it back. Yeah, that's what I did.

Q. Taking a look at your scorecard, four pars, seven birdies, five bogeys, one double bogey, and an eagle. How do you manage emotions through a round like that?

NATASHA OON: I don't know. I don't know, guys. It's been a while and these things happen. It's crazy. You know, this is golf, to be honest. This is golf. Yeah, no words. Just colorful. Kind of wanted to cover all areas maybe.

Q. You're a person who loves a lot of whimsy and that scorecard is a lot of whimsy. How gratifying is this moment to have fought so hard to get back here and now to be playing your first weekend as a member on the LPGA Tour?

NATASHA OON: Yeah, I cried. If no one noticed, I cried a lot and a lot of people were like, what's wrong? You guys did really well. I'm like, I'm crying tears of h=joy because it's been a long time and just coming back and feeling all the emotions. When I made that hole out, it wasn't even about the hole out, it was about like hearing the crowd cheer and everyone laughing and having a good time.

That was so electrifying. I felt like I was on the FIFA World Cup and I scored a goal. That was really cool. Just to do it in front of a marquee, I love this. This is so cool. I love being a performer and getting to know you all and getting asked these questions and performing, yeah.

Q. Explain the reaction, because that's hilarious, just like laying down on the ground. Were you just beyond shock or couldn't deal with what was flowing through you?

NATASHA OON: I just came off a double and just came off a bogey and three-putted. I was distracted. Then I felt tired. It was hot. It's like humid. I'm tired. Hit the shot and then I pulled it a little bit and I was like, okay, maybe.

Then I see these hands starting to go up slowly and they're like, wow, and all my friends were there. I just laid down because, I don't know, that's just me. I just react all the time and I was like screaming and I was like, wait, this is a tournament. I can't scream. My caddie was like no, no, it's okay.

Yeah, just a really Natasha reaction over there.

Q. How do you carry this joy into the next 36 hours?

NATASHA OON: You know, you made the weekend. Let's go. You know, it's just golf and I'm just so glad to be playing another two rounds of this amazing environment. Just being here, it's just awesome. It's amazing, yeah. Really taking it in.

Q. You have a lot of friends out here. We saw your mom with you this earlier this week. Talk about the support system you have with you this week.

NATASHA OON: Yeah, they're friends I'm accumulated through my journey and friends who are helping me on my journey. Some I met through Instagram and some through health stuff and hiking and all that. Seeing them all together is just -- it's insane how much a community can bring much joy, and just getting them to see me work and support me through whatever is just -- nothing defines more.

So, I mean, my advice to everyone is to build a community around you that lifts you up and sees you for you who you are.
