VALSPAR CHAMPIONSHIP

March 20, 2026

David Lipsky

Palm Harbor, Florida, USA

Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead)

Quick Quotes

Q. Bogey-free out there today. How would you describe that round?

DAVID LIPSKY: It was excellent. I did everything well. Missed it in the right spots, holed the putts early on to get some momentum going. That finishing stretch is obviously tough, so able to save a couple pars down on 16 and 18 and really kept the round going.

Q. How would you describe your season so far coming in here? Do you have a little bit of confidence, it's been pretty solid, right?

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, I've made three of four cuts. I've had a few limited starts, especially because the number of Signature Events there are early on. I'll be playing a lot from here on out and just, I was just looking to build some momentum this week going into that stretch.

Q. How has that been with you adapting to the status that you have?

DAVID LIPSKY: It's been different, for sure. I played THE PLAYERS most years, into a lot of those Signature Events, Waste Management. But overall I think it's given me some time to work on my game and I think the results are showing.

Q. You were tied for the lead a few years ago in the first round, I think.

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, yeah. I think might have been my first year.

Q. What sort of, what did you learn from that, can you carry that into like this week with some of the stuff that happened during that round?

DAVID LIPSKY: Definitely. I think out here par is good a lot of times. You're trying to play patient golf. It's a tough course. So just giving yourself those mid-range chances for birdie and not trying to get too greedy at times is really important.

Q. It's your 145th start on tour, still seeking that first victory. Is that always in the back of your mind when you contend in a tournament?

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, but ultimately I think I just try to play as well as I can and let the chips fall where they may, to be honest. I will say, maybe in contention on Sunday, back nine, I'm going to take a few more risks that than I normally would. But overall game plan doesn't change too much.

Q. You've had some wins in Europe, will you pull from that? Like when you get back in contention you have good memories.

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, I've won on every level throughout my career. So winning out here is obviously the most difficult, has the best players, toughest courses. I think I can lean on that, knowing that I can close it out when I need to.

Q. How was this morning different from playing in the afternoon yesterday?

DAVID LIPSKY: It was really cold this morning, it was still breezy. A lot of dew on the ground, so we were getting some mud balls. But other than that it was nice that the greens were a little bit more receptive. Yesterday was really tough. Wind was up and the greens were baked out. So it was really tough to get it close and to shoot even par.

Q. Looks like you'll have a fairly late tee time tomorrow. How will you spend the next 20-something hours before that?

DAVID LIPSKY: Just a lot of rest and, yeah, that's about it.
