Quick Quotes
Q. 5-under overall. This is your first made cut this season. Talk about how you're feeling right now.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, obviously it feels good to be up here close to the lead. Disappointed how I finished today. Had some chances to kind of go, be up there closer to the lead, but the good thing is it's playing really tough and tricky this afternoon. Try to take a positive from that. Hung in there when things weren't going great. I made some good swings down the stretch to give myself some chances and hopefully the putts will go in tomorrow. The greens got really crispy, really hard to make putts. Hopefully kind of work on some things tonight and get ready for tomorrow. I'm excited to see what I can do over the weekend.
Q. Talk about the eagle on 11.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah, that was -- Got to get lucky every once in a while. I hit two good shots to get to the greenside bunker. I've always been a pretty good bunker player, so excited about that. But, you know, trying to hit it up there close, a 35-yard bunker shot, you're not thinking about holing. But I hit a great shot and luckily spun it in there and it went in. So things that weren't going my way, it was nice to have that happen.
Q. It was a back and forth kind of day. How were you able to kind of just stay calm?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I took solace that everybody would have something like that today. It was going to be a tough day. You didn't see anybody going low. You're going to be missing fairways, missing greens, it's going to be really difficult. So just kind of realized that how the course was playing and not to get too up-and-down, and realize it's going to be a struggle for everybody. So kind of take what you can when you get it.
Q. Three off the lead, a struggle for everybody. How do you feel going into the weekend? When you think about this round today, the eagle was tremendous, the round was up-and-down, but you're right in there.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: Yeah. Gave me a chance. You're going to have 18 holes like this. When you're playing a golf course this tough you're going to have 18 holes where things don't go great, you need to survive. I did a good job of surviving this afternoon. Hopefully play a little sharper over the weekend and give myself more opportunities. But this golf course makes you think, it plays tough and tricky, and with the wind blowing like it was today and some firm, fast greens it's really difficult to get the ball close. Over the weekend you just got to stay patient and realize everybody's going to have a stretch of holes where things don't go great, so just hang in there and hopefully you can kind of make a few key putts here and there a few good swings when you need to and stay up there near the lead.
Q. I know if you weren't enjoying this you wouldn't be doing it. But it's got to be good going in the locker room and seeing these young guys and proving that the President's still got some game.
BRANDT SNEDEKER: It's nice to show my son and kids I can still do this every once in awhile. But that being said, good golf after two rounds is a whole different thing than good golf after four. So we got two more rounds to go prove it, so I'm looking forward to the challenge.
Q. Do you still have this boost for the weekend?
BRANDT SNEDEKER: I haven't played any weekends this year, so I have more energy than all these guys I'm playing against. But I'm excited. I feel like my game's in really good shape, I got to tighten some things up, but I always love the opportunity to play on the weekends out here.
