LIV GOLF SOUTH AFRICA

March 20, 2026

Abraham Ancer

Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

The Club at Steyn City

Torque GC

Quick Quotes

Q. 6-under 65; what are your thoughts on today, how you're playing? Torque currently has the team lead?

ABE ANCER: Definitely very happy. I was able to keep the ball in the fairway pretty much, I think, all 14 fairways if I'm not mistaken, which is very important. The rough is pretty brutal out here, and I'm not a very long player off the tee, but I was able to still hit some really good iron shots and get plenty of looks for birdie. I feel like I rolled it pretty good, so I just kept it pretty simple, and look forward to doing the same thing the next couple days. Happy that we're on top, but we're still halfway there. We still have two more rounds to go.

Q. Teams are building support in host countries. You see it here in South Africa, and as someone with a loyal following and support in Mexico and Latin America, what does it feel like to see this before we head into LIV Mexico?

ABE ANCER: This is exciting. Obviously it's my first time in South Africa, and the fans are unbelievable. The feeling of teeing off on the first tee and the party hole is incredible. They get it; this is what LIV Golf is all about. I really think we can achieve the same in Mexico. We're going to really push for having the same vibes and having the same atmosphere. I think it's going to be a great event, and I'm looking forward to playing there.
