Quick Quotes
Q. Do you feel like you did enough today to put yourself in a spot where you can make a comeback tomorrow?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Not unless it starts blowing like 30 miles an hour (laughing).
Q. What changed from first two rounds to today for you?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I was a little sharper today than I was the first two days. I felt like I was swinging it better each day of the tournament. Today hit a few more fairways and was able to give myself a few more looks for birdie.
Q. Was there anything you found in that range session late on Thursday? You spent a couple hours working.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Did I find anything? I think that would imply that I was lost, which is not the case. No, I think I'm always just trying to get a feel for where things are at, and sometimes a little practice helps, and sometimes a little rest helps.
Q. It's a fine line yesterday, right, where you were hovering there around the cut for a little bit. That's been unusual for you to be in that position. What was it like to have to fight that one out?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It's more fun fighting to be near the lead is how I would describe it.
Q. Still, was it a different kind of nervous than what you've been used to, and especially if you weren't maybe feeling great about things?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Was it a different kind of nervous? I mean, I think I'm always grinding and trying to fight to shoot a good score, and I felt like that's what I was trying to do yesterday as well. Yeah, I don't know.
Q. Favorite shot from today, one you were particularly pleased with?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Gosh, no, I don't know.
Q. Nothing that you saw exactly and it did it?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I hit some nice ones. The shot on 17 was really nice. That was kind of a tweener for me, where I had to ride the wind a little bit. So it was nice for that one to come out nice and straight with a tiny little draw on it. That one was pretty close to exactly what I was wanting to do.
Q. Is there anything Randy's identified that helped you play better today?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, I'm always just trying to get a feel for I think where my swing's at. Whenever I can feel the clubhead, I'm in a pretty good spot. If you ever see us practicing, that's typically what I'm trying to -- if I'm searching for something, that would be kind of what I'm searching for is the feel for the clubhead, and so that way I'm kind of able to see and create shots.
Q. Do you have anything after this before the Masters or have you not decided?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Undecided.
Q. Do you feel like you -- obviously your likelihood of winning is difficult now.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It's pretty low. (Laughing).
Q. Do you feel like you've accomplished anything this week that you wanted to accomplish coming out of here?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, I think with the way I hit it the first couple days, to kind of have the attitude that I did and the fight that I did, I think that -- when I look at tournaments, I'm not thinking about winning, I'm thinking about approaching things the right way. I did my best to stay committed and I did a good job I think of keeping the right attitude and keeping my head on straight in order to grind out a couple rounds that were difficult. And then I shot a nice round today as well. So overall I think I've been in a good spot with how my attitude and commitment has been to my shots. So that's, for me that's a good week.
Q. How do you feel about the driver?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: How do I feel about the driver? Good.
Q. Which one? Which one do you feel good about?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: The one I used since 2024. Yeah. That one. (Laughing).
