LIV GOLF SINGAPORE

March 12, 2026

Matthew Wolff

Richard T. Lee

Republic of Singapore

Sentosa Golf Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome to the media center Richard T. Lee, one of LIV Golf's wild cards, and Matthew Wolff, RangeGoats GC. Richard, 4-under 67, tied for the lead after one round. Please just assess your play out there today and how the course was, particularly with the windy conditions.

RICHARD T. LEE: Yeah, I started on 6 today and put it in the bunker, short-sided myself and holed out for birdie and had a good start. Kind of cruised from there.

I had three pretty lengthy putts out there and made them, and one bogey, and I thought the course was playing really tough, and I thought I played pretty well.

Q. Matthew, top-5 finish last week. You're right in it again after one round here at Sentosa. How do you feel about the state of your game and do you feel like trending right in the direction you want it to be?

MATT WOLFF: Yeah, it feels really good. Feel like I'm hitting it well. Had a couple drives that were a little errant today, but just getting more comfortable with it. I felt like I've hit it pretty bad for a while and starting to finally feel a little bit more comfortable and confident in my swing.

I feel like now it's just kind of nailing down a feel, and hopefully I'll just stick with it.

Q. Richard, you won LIV Golf Promotions back in January to secure one of those three wild card spots. Early days, obviously, but what has your LIV Golf experience been like so far?

RICHARD T. LEE: It's been amazing. I can't complain. Just all the good food that I'm having out here and experiencing the good courses out here and playing with the best players in the world. I'm having a blast.

Q. Matt, when was the last time you felt this confident in your game? Was it recently? Was it last year at any point?

MATT WOLFF: Definitely not. I'd probably say -- I've had tournaments like here and there that I've probably felt good, but I feel like it doesn't really last. It's maybe like one little feel that week that I kind of can get it around and have a good idea of where the ball is going.

Everyone close to me is probably tired of hearing it, but I always say, like, college for me is when I hit it the best. I just had the most confidence. I knew where the ball was going. I had the most control. I had a good college career.

It's getting back there. It's hard. It's a lot more mental out here, bright lights, all you guys. But it's feeling better.

Q. Richard, I did want to ask you, the best finish ever by a wild card player is T12. A, does that surprise you? B, is that any kind of -- I don't know if it's a motivating factor or whatever, but just in terms of being the wild card, maybe trying to set a new standard out here?

RICHARD T. LEE: That could possibly change this week. I mean, I've played this course so many times on the Asian Tour, and I think I have a bit of an advantage on this course knowing where the slopes are and where to miss it. I think it's going to be a great week.

Q. Was 2020 the last time you played this course? I think you finished T5 or top 10.

RICHARD T. LEE: Yeah, I think so, yeah. I think that year, I think I got the last spot for the Open, as well. I think I played pretty well that year, as well.

Q. As a wild card player how much confidence does it give you to actually be at the top of the leaderboard now?

RICHARD T. LEE: I mean, I've been playing tournaments all my life, and for me to come out on LIV Golf and play with these great players, I still have a lot of things to learn out there, and I think just putting myself in position, I think I can keep playing better and better. I think this week would be awesome if I beat that T12 wild card.

Q. For Matt, which part of your game do you think clicked for you?

MATT WOLFF: I'd say the irons and wedges. I feel like I'm hitting them really good. More wedges, I feel like. I usually drive the ball pretty good, even though I didn't today. If I can have good distance control and stuff, I can have more wedges than most people.

So just being able to hit those close and gave myself more looks.

Q. Richard, can you just talk about your putting today? It seems like it was going pretty well. Is that something that you've been working on?

RICHARD T. LEE: I mean, LIV Promotions, I don't think I missed a putt out there. I made two bogeys the whole week that week. I was just trying to get that feel back from LIV Promotions and trying to get my setup proper, and it felt pretty good just rolling it.

I feel like I'm rolling it pretty nicely out there right now.

Q. Matt, you talked about your iron and wedge play a little bit. If you gained strokes on approach this week, which today you led the field, it would be four in a row for you, and that would be the first time you've done that since 2020 around the U.S. Open. What specifically do you think has led to your approach play, attacking greens being so good through the first three and change?

MATT WOLFF: I think feeling more confident with my swing, just control of the ball, knowing which way it's curving, feeling like I know what to do if I need to not miss it a certain way. Just little stuff in my swing.

But like I said, I didn't drive it that good today, but also it's like, you can't really hit it that good with your irons if you're not putting it in the fairways and giving yourself good opportunities to hit good iron shots.

I think it's just confidence in the swing, really.

Q. Last week you said you had a really good off-season. What specifically did you do differently this off-season or were you healthier or what led to you having an off-season where you could improve?

MATT WOLFF: Yeah, just continuing to look back at old swings, work with my coach a little bit more and kind of just learn more about myself. I think it's -- I didn't ever really struggle growing up, like golfing, even in college. It just was easy for me, and then I turned pro and the swing felt like it was changing without me trying to make it change. Everything changes when you turn pro; it's so different from anything that you've ever experienced. So just learning about, like, tendencies in my swing, stuff that I've kind of caught myself doing that might make certain misses happen. But like I said, just learning, really.

Q. Richard, as a wild card with the format that LIV has, not only are the wild cards focused on securing their rights to play again the following season, but is there any extra motivation about trying to prove yourself to the teams that may have open spots and potentially working your way on to one of the teams' rosters for 2027?

RICHARD T. LEE: Yeah, that is the plan, honestly. I feel like a little loner out there playing by myself as an individual. But then again, I think if I play my best and maybe get a win possibly, I think there's a possibility that I can get on a team.
