ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL

March 8, 2026

Ludvig Aberg

Bay Hill, Florida, USA

Bay Hill Club and Lodge

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you characterize the round today?

LUDVIG ABERG: I thought it was very positive. I thought that I was driving the ball nice and giving myself plenty of chances. I felt like today came out pretty well. I was 4-under through 8 or 7. And obviously would have loved to have a little bit better back nine to kind of put the pressure on the guys in front of me. But overall I was pleased with the way I was hitting putts, hitting post tough shots, and, yeah, overall happy with the play.

Q. What can a round like this do going forward here to next week and THE PLAYERS Championship?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, I think so. I mean obviously next week is a big tournament. This was a big tournament. They're going to come thick and fast going forward. But I think the biggest thing for me this week was how I sort of made some tweaks mid round, some adjustments where I felt like I was playing nice. The level was pretty good and then kind of had some stretches where it wasn't amazing, and then I was able to make some tweaks and get back to hitting some good golf shots again.

Q. You talked about tweaking your putter before this week going back with more loft or less loft, I can't remember?

LUDVIG ABERG: More loft now than the West Coast.

Q. Going to be possibly your best finish of the year so far. Is there anything else you worked on prior to the week that kind of helped this week and helped you to this finish?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, definitely putting. Obviously came out with a putter that had a little bit more loft on it. Speed-wise I felt a lot more comfortable. It's definitely the part of my game where I feel like if that one is clicking then I feel like I can play some pretty good golf. But, yeah, overall we kind of keep working on the golf swing, nothing crazy, nothing major, just kind of the same things. But being very intentional with it the last couple of weeks and pleased with the way I saw it this week.

Q. This a little off topic, but the first TGL event I don't know if you remember this, but Tiger was just watching you with his arms crossed while you were warming up. It was so cool. He doesn't stop and watch a lot of guys swing. Could you feel his eyes on you?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, I remember that's first TGL match, it was a nervous, stressful moment, because obviously it was, you know, we were the first team to come out and play, it was the first match ever, so obviously a lot of eyes on us. Felt like obviously Tiger and Rory were sitting up in the booth and we didn't want to make a fool out of ourselves. But, yeah, it was pretty cool. It's a great concept, I loved being a part of it. And looking forward to doing it again.

Q. Have you ever been aware of Tiger watching you with admiration, because that's what, I definitely picked up on it and I watched Tiger since he was 19, I haven't seen it a lot.

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, I mean, obviously Tiger is Tiger. He's the GOAT of our sport. And what he's done for us has been incredible, for the PGA TOUR and I was fortunate enough to win his tournament last year, which was really cool. I had a pretty cool picture of us together with the trophy. That's the one I'm going to remember for a long time.

Q. When they talk about the Stadium Course (sic) they often talk about it's a shot maker's precision course and anybody can win there. But some really big bombers, you and -- not you, Tiger, Fred Couples, Davis Love, Phil Mickelson, I mean there's a long list of bombers, big strong guys who have won there. So I wonder how you size it up between that precision shot maker's course and bombers doing well there?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, for sure, I live right there, so I play it every now and then. And it's a great golf course tee to green. It's one of my favorites in the world. So it demands a lot. It's quite in front of you, I would say. It's quite, you know, obvious what you want to do, but you still got to pull it off. You still got to hit the right shots at the right time and I love the finish, 16, 17, 18's a great finish. And it's just one of them where you have to step up and hit golf shots all the way in.

Q. You live right near the course in the gated area there?

LUDVIG ABERG: Not in the gated area, but a few minutes away.

Q. And do you use that range at all when you're home?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, yeah, I do.

Q. Does Vijay still come out there?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, he does.

Q. Do you guys compare notes?

LUDVIG ABERG: A little bit, yeah, if I see him I'll speak to him. I haven't seen him a ton lately, but last year you remember I saw him quite a bit.

Q. You moved from Swedish to English so effortlessly. Do you have to think at all about doing it or does that just happen?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, I do. It's difficult. Sometimes I can't find a word in English and sometimes I can't find a word in Swedish, and it's a little bit tricky. But, yeah, it's gotten a lot better, my English since I came over for college. But Sweden's normally a pretty good country in terms of speaking English.

Q. How about, like the PGA TOUR's so Florida-centric, so much of it is Florida. It's so different there's nothing like Florida in Sweden. What's that been like for you culturally? Sweden versus Florida, they couldn't be more different.

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, it's very different. I love Sweden, I love Florida. I love Florida this part of the year. It's absolutely amazing. But I do enjoy coming back home for the summer and sort of parts of the fall. But, yeah, there are some big differences, but I feel like as TOUR players we kind of get the best of both worlds and I feel fortunate that I'm able to go home to Sweden every now and then and kind of experience that as well. But Florida and in March, April is pretty nice too.
