ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL

March 7, 2026

Scottie Scheffler

Bay Hill, Florida, USA

Bay Hill Club and Lodge

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you characterize the round as a whole?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Pretty up and down, I would say.

Q. What did the rain do to the greens? Make it a little more receptive, did they change the speed of 'em at all?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It changed the speed significantly. They went from basically dead to somewhat maybe alive. Yeah, I would say early in the round and really pretty much Thursday and Friday there wasn't a lot of friction on there, and I think the rain created a little bit of friction to where your ball was more rolling I think instead of kind of skidding is how I would describe it.

Q. What did you find there on the back nine, other than the 18th hole there, you made those four birdies in a row.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I holed a putt on maybe 11? Holed a putt on 11.

And then 12 I hit a real nice pitch.

13 and 14 I would say I both got good breaks. Out here the margins are just so small. I felt like the ones, the breaks were, when they go against you, you make bogeys, and when they go with you, sometimes you make birdies. I got two good breaks there. 13 getting a clean look over there. The lie was okay, but just having a shot to be able to get to the green. When you hit it in the rough out here you don't know what you're going to get. Sometimes you can get the ball on the green, and then you look at the lie I had on 1, I can't hit it more than 90 yards, and I'm not necessarily weak in terms of speed. So really a lot of it is lie dependent. So you get good and bad breaks. So on the birdie stretch I got a couple good breaks in there and holed some nice putts.

Q. This is obviously a tough week here, but there's a big event next week. Are you okay with that, with it being difficult before such a big thing up at Sawgrass?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I've handled it well in the past.

Q. (No Microphone.)

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I think we get beaten up, but golf's a game that kind of beats you up anyways (laughing).

Q. You still have your chipping contest with Ted -- sorry, chip-in contest?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, yeah, but I don't really think he's counting this year. I don't think -- yeah.

Q. Is it because you chipped in a lot already?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I don't know, to be honest with you. I haven't really paid close attention to it, to be completely honest.
