Q. Obviously you put yourself in position. You seem to do this every tournament.

JON RAHM: I'm feeling great. I'm feeling I can convert this coming round. It shows how (indiscernible) week in and week out. That in itself shows (indiscernible).

Q. Obviously Thomas Detry was one of the guys on the plane. How do you feel about that?

JON RAHM: The way I see it is it's simply my duty. I was raised with certain values, that if you have the ability and capability of helping somebody, especially in a scenario like that where my main focus essentially was getting them out of there, not necessarily playing a tournament. I remember telling Caleb earlier in the week, how about you forget about playing the tournament and we focus on getting you to safety and then we'll see if you can get to Hong Kong. With the ever-changing environment, it looked kind of dark for a second. For a second, at one point, if they went through a different extraction plan, they were going to go to Europe. I was trying to help people in Spain to get them set up to practice in Spain. It looked like coming here was going to be hard.

But yeah, here they are. Never thought they would be able to come. It's amazing that so many of them all safe and that's the most important thing.

Q. In some ways, is it nice to see a guy like Thomas have the opportunity to play?

JON RAHM: Yeah, they're all fantastic players and all deserve to be here. The focus wasn't always a tournament.

Q. Following on from that, how proud are you of the way Caleb and Tom have handled this week and everything that went on?

JON RAHM: I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. They're both so young. Caleb is turning 22 in a matter of days, and Tom is 23. Even though they've traveled a lot, that is a crazy situation to be in. Tom is very calm no matter what. He seems to keep composure very easy and make decisions fast. Caleb is a little bit more like me where he's a bit more skittish in a situation like that. But I'm very proud of him.

Honestly, coming in, I expected to maybe not as a team, not really be in contention. I didn't expect with everything they'd gone through, the travel, the stress, they're worried, a lack of practice, nobody could have predicted Tom being up there, close to the top 10, I believe, Thomas being up there, Caleb had a good first round. Again, just happy they're here. That's all I can say.

Q. Had you played Hong Kong before you joined LIV?

JON RAHM: Yeah, and I can tell you I'm kicking myself for never coming because it's such a wonderful city and wonderful venue. I hope we come here for a long, long time.

Q. What have you learned now that you didn't know when you first came here about the course?

JON RAHM: I didn't know anything about the course. But as soon as I started asking people, everybody immediately had a very positive reaction to it. It's a wonderful golf course. It's a wonderful city. Even friends that hadn't been to the course, about the city they always had very positive things to say.

It went from somewhere where I wasn't very sure about it to all of a sudden a date that I was really, really looking forward to, and it's been like that ever since.
