Q. Can you talk about your situation right now? Because through two games, your situation is getting better, and how is the atmosphere of the team?
STUART FAIRCHILD: Yeah, so I played the first two full games. The plan was for me to go today as the DH. So yeah, I'll be DH'ing today. Just to lighten my load a little bit and then I'll play a full nine tomorrow in the outfield, I believe. Yeah, go from there.
Q. You know, after facing two very different pitching staffs, what has BN the toughest part of finding your rhythm against these international arms? And by the way, we can see your powerful hitting before in the past two games. So facing today's game, what is your adjustment to find your biggest hitting zone?
STUART FAIRCHILD: Yeah, I don't think I've had the results that I want up to this point in the first two games yet but I'm proud of myself for the at-bats that I've had I think in Game 1. You know, I saw 25 pitches or something like that that I went to three full counts that just didn't break my way.
So yeah, it's just baseball. That's how it works sometimes but I'm happy about how I'm taking my at-bats, and then yesterday, drew a walk against Yamamoto, and then hit a ball really well that I believe was a fair ball, even though it wasn't called that way on the field. I feel like yesterday I was taking better swings than I was day one, and I feel like I'm going in the right direction.
Q. Regarding the first game against Australia, in the game, a lot of fans are arguing about a strike call on the umpire. We are not blaming the reason why you lost due to the call, but my point is through the international matches, when you have a disagreed judgment of what you think, how do you manage yourself and see what if your team is facing the difficult situation, how do you maintain your team?
STUART FAIRCHILD: Yeah, I mean, I think it's just stay positive. Stay in the moment. It's the game we play, right. It's not a perfect game. There's going to be calls that go against you at times. That's how the game works. So yeah, you just take it in stride and the next pitch and try to be in that moment and release the past.
