Q. You obviously turned it up towards the back end of your round. How would you assess today?

JON RAHM: Really good day of golf. There's no other way of saying it. Did okay off the tee, which I think is one of the keys out here. It's not the longest golf course, so you can put those tee shots in the fairway and you're going to have a lot of opportunities to attack, and did just that. If I had to say an MVP of the day, it's the putter. Made a lot of good putts, made a lot of mid-range putts from 15 to 20 feet, which can't be taken for granted. It's a fun day on the greens.

Q. I hate to remind you of this, but 26 events since your last win. What do you think it's going to take over the weekend? I know it's 36 holes.

JON RAHM: I need to do a little bit better ball-striking wise. Yesterday was not great. Today it was better but not as comfortable as I would like to be. Coming down the stretch in pressure situations I'm going to need to play a little bit better than that or at least swing a little bit better than I have so far. Clearly I'm doing just good enough to be in the hunt and hopefully get a little bit better every day.

Q. It sounds like the conditions are going to toughen up over the weekend with the wind. Does that change your strategy and the way you attack this golf course?

JON RAHM: Well, it depends on the direction of the wind, the pin location, how you're feeling essentially. I'm not going to have a plan until I get to the tee of whatever hole I'm playing. I can't really give you too much right now.
