BLUE BAY LPGA

March 6, 2026

Ruoning Yin

Hainan Island, Republic of China

Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Pleasure to be joined alongside Ronni Yin. There are stylish ways to move up the leaderboard, but I like what you did at the seventh hole today. Tell us all about it.

RUONING YIN: So I think the yardage was 153 and a little left-to-right downwind. I was like, this is perfect 8-iron, but like last couple holes my swing wasn't really good, so I just really wanted to do my swing.

Then I just hit a perfect little cut, and, yeah, I think this is the first one I actually saw it go in. It was pretty special.

Q. Fantastic hole-in-one. First on the LPGA. How many in your career?

RUONING YIN: Three so far, but, yeah the first one was actually not long ago, like 2023; the second one was also 2023, yeah.

Q. Great way to start 2026. How are you going to celebrate? You've got your family here. You got a hole-in-one. Looking good going into the weekend.

RUONING YIN: Yeah, absolutely. My mom was actually screaming. I can hear from like miles away. Probably just going to go grab lunch and maybe celebrate, like mini celebrate for dinner.

Yeah, I'll get them some milk tea.

Q. Get them some milk tea, okay. Might even be champagne come Sunday afternoon. You're playing nicely going into the weekend. You've got a lot of fans that you love playing in front of the fans. You're a bit of a showwoman, aren't you, on the golf course?

RUONING YIN: Absolutely. I mean, I'm kind of introvert outside the course. I don't want people to really come up to me outside the course, but on the course I think I'm pretty extrovert. I mean, the fans are amazing this week, especially I tee off early today and I wasn't expecting that many fans can come to watch.

But they were great. They're absolutely great.

Q. Here with Ronni after her second round at the Blue Bay LPGA. On hole 7, talk us through that hole. What club were you hitting? How far? What was everything like out there?

RUONING YIN: Yeah, I think that hole was 153 and then a little downwind off left. I do remember before I hit the shot my caddie just said, you can aim straight at it, so I just go straight at it.

Q. Are you aware of the CME Group Cares Challenge that the LPGA goes through?

RUONING YIN: Not really.

Q. That's all right. So it's a season-long program that turns hole-in-ones into donations. With your hole-in-one, $20,000 is donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

RUONING YIN: That's cool.

Q. Talk about that. What does that mean?

RUONING YIN: That definitely means a lot. I mean, 20k is a lot. I hope I can make more hole-in-ones and just help the kids.

Q. And then this is one, another additional one. Couple early bogeys and battled back. How important is it to stay patient on a week and course like this?

RUONING YIN: I think patience is I think the key word in golf. You just -- because golf just so random. You might hit a good shot and end up in a divot.

Patience is the key, key word my caddie inform me this week. Especially this course is very challenging and the conditions very challenging as well. So I think if I can be patient and just play my game, I think I have a chances.
