WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC: POOL A

March 5, 2026

Logan Allen

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Hiram Bithorn Stadium

Team Panama

Workout Day Press Conference

Q. How does it feel getting the start for Panama tomorrow? Your mom's from Panama, correct? Is she here? Will she be watching? Do you have family here? Will they be watching? How is that all going to work tomorrow?

LOGAN ALLEN: I'm going to have my mom here, my dad, a lot of family. Very excited for the opportunity. Very proud to wear "Panama" on my chest. I know there's a lot of pride in my family in that. Really excited for the opportunity and can't wait for the game.

Q. Did your family talk to you about Panama when you were growing up?

LOGAN ALLEN: My mom definitely tried to explain as much as she could about where she grew up and everything it was like. She came to the states in her 20s. I still have a lot of family there.

Unfortunately, I've still never been to Panama. From talking to my teammates and everything, it's beautiful. Really looking forward for an opportunity to go visit one day, obviously after we finish up here.

Q. What do you know about the Cuban team that you're going to face tomorrow? What are your expectations for this opening game?

LOGAN ALLEN: I know it's a veteran team, a lot of older players that have been around, played a lot of baseball. More than anything, I'm just trying to trust my teammates, trust myself, and go out there and pitch like it's any other game that I've played in my career.

Like I said, really excited for the opportunity, but just trying to worry about trying to do what I do well and not put too much worry into what the other team's going to do. Obviously they're going to come out ready to go. This is a big stage, so everyone is going to be ready to play.

Just trying to lean into my strengths and stay there.

Q. What do you think of your teammates from Panama?

LOGAN ALLEN: They've been amazing. Truth be told, I was a little nervous coming to join the team. Obviously my Spanish isn't too good, but my teammates have been amazing. They've helped me translate everything, and they've made me feel very welcome. Really enjoyed my time with these guys here, and definitely some friends I've made for life.

Q. What does it mean to you to represent a Panama team in the World Baseball Classic? And what's the vibe of the Panama team -- the feeling, the teammates, all?

LOGAN ALLEN: It's hard to put into words, but I know the history. I know that we have an opportunity to make a lot of history here for the Panamanian team. I think everybody in the clubhouse is just excited for the opportunity. We've got a lot of guys that are ready to play, ready to go.

Like I said, they welcomed me with open arms. It's really been a lot of fun already to be around these guys.

Q. What have you heard about the Cuban pitchers for tomorrow?

LOGAN ALLEN: I've heard the guy starting against us is very good. I know he plays overseas, so I'm excited to see him throw.

I know we've got a lot of great players all the way around in this tournament. I'm excited to see everybody do their best and show out for their countries.
