Quick Quotes
Q. There was strong wind in the afternoon and your score is 4-under. Can you rate your performance?
RUONING YIN: I'd give it 90 points. I'm quite satisfied with today's performance, and the hard work I've put into training recently has paid off. I'm really happy.
Q. Did the strong wind this afternoon affect your performance? Tomorrow you'll be teeing off early, when the conditions will be relatively better. Will you change your strategy?
RUONING YIN: The wind was okay for me. I just took it shot by shot today and I'll do the same tomorrow.
Q. What specific aspects have you been working on in training?
RUONING YIN: Pretty much everything. At the end of last year I realized my driving distance was a bit short, and after understanding the reasons, I discussed it with my coach. I made adjustments to my putting as well and spent a lot of time practicing.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with today's performance.
Q. You missed a few opportunities around the turn. How do you maintain your patience?
RUONING YIN: The past two seasons wasn't particularly smooth for me. I felt a bit out of form. This season, I slightly changed my practice approach and spent a lot of time on the course, so now I feel more in control when handling different shots.
I think both my mindset and skills this season are better than in previous years.
Q. Can you feel the same enthusiasm from the fans?
RUONING YIN: There were so many fans. I was quite surprised. I didn't expect so many people to come watch on a Thursday. I had a great time playing, and I hope everyone enjoyed watching too.
