Quick Quotes
Q. Joining me today after the third round of the HSBC Women's World Championship is Hannah Green. Another great round. Can you talk about what went well today? A lot of people were not going low?
HANNAH GREEN: I felt it was tricky with the pins today and the wind changed throughout the round, so adjusting so that. We also played the ball down, so it was different to actually, one, deal with some of the mud balls, but also not give yourself a good lie even if you do hit the fairway. It was tough out there. I'm not surprised by the scoring. I felt like I played really well today.
Q. You've won this event before. What does it mean to you to be out here in contention again?
HANNAH GREEN: Again, I love coming to Singapore. I don't typically hit a lot of fairways but I hit a lot of greens here and I think that always helps around this golf course.
But having a lot of familiar faces amongst the crowd is really nice and having my husband by my side, as well, it's been a lot of fun.
Q. So how are you going to prepare for Sunday?
HANNAH GREEN: I didn't hit many fairways today, even though I felt pretty confident with the driver. So probably just going to hit a few on the range. Maybe do a little bit of putting because tomorrow is probably going to be tough.
I'm sure they are going to set up the course so that we do not shoot really low scores. So just do a little bit of practice, go back and relax, see my physio.
Q. Two players at the top of the leaderboard from Australia; have you ever played a final round together?
HANNAH GREEN: I don't think we've played a final round together, maybe a tournament. The Australians are probably loving it because they don't have focus on two different groups.
Q. How much will you talk to your husband about going into tomorrow?
HANNAH GREEN: I think it's been good so far because obviously I've been playing well. It would be a problem if I wasn't playing well. I don't think we will talk too much about golf.
Honestly he'll be just as nervous as I will be. I feel like I don't get too nervous on a golf course and I want to try and get distracted.
Tonight I'll probably have dinner with other players and try to get my mind off it. I don't think we'll talk. About it. We'll look at the pin positions and have a look and see where they are. But yeah, not too much golf chat.
Q. Has he ever caddied for you in an event of this stature?
HANNAH GREEN: No. Thailand last week was the first time he caddied for me. Prior to that he caddied for me for a couple rounds ten years ago. So he's feeling new to this as well.
Q. And how about you, when you caddied for him, has he ever been IN contention?
HANNAH GREEN: No. I've never actually caddied for him in a four-round tournament but I did caddie for him earlier in the summer. We did all right for the three days I was not there. We've had a lot fun on the course. So hopefully I can do that again tomorrow.
Q. How does it help having your husband on the bag?
HANNAH GREEN: I think staying patient is probably the hardest thing when you're out here, when unfortunately you hit shots and perhaps are not making putts or things like that. I guess having him to kind of bounce off, especially with him being a golfer, he knows what it's like.
And a couple times I felt like I didn't hit great shots but perhaps under the circumstances, they actually weren't that bad.
So him understanding that and keeping me patient is kind of what he's been doing the last two weeks. I'll need a lot of patience tomorrow, so probably do the same thing.
Q. Does this bring back memories for you? You were in a similar position heading into the final round when you won here.
HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely, there are a lot of birdies to be made but it's very easy to make bogey. So I think just limiting as many of those as possible.
I've been hitting the ball into the greens, so if I can continue to do that, and even though I'm playing with Minjee, we are good friends, I don't want to get too caught up in what her scores are. I want to do my thing and hopefully keep making birdies and make lots of putts.
