Sentosa Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Joining me today after the third round of the HSBC Women's World Championship, angel I didn't know. Two good rounds in a row. Can you talk what's been going well over these last two rounds?

ANGEL YIN: I've been hitting it good and I've been putting it better. I think putting it better has been the biggest improvement to be honest but also hitting it. So it's all coming together better and scoring well, too.

Q. Do you think there's any tricks to this golf course or is it just kind of hard out there?

ANGEL YIN: No, I think it's just very straightforward. You've got to hit it well, putt it well, that's it. Greens are massive here. So you have to really be able to pick good targets, but it's also tricky because there's a lot of fallouts. As big as it is, it's quite small.

Q. Two hot weeks in a row, here and Thailand last week. How do you manage conditions like this?

ANGEL YIN: Usually just umbrella and sunglasses. I did lose my sunglasses so I actually got this yesterday for ten bucks. I'm pretty happy. It was about. It was 14 SNG, I think that's about ten Bucks U.S., and it's been working out really good because I need something really durable.

Yeah, honestly, if you your eyes are shaded, it helps your body cool down to be honest and under the umbrella.

Q. You've had a string of birdies, and then you dropped some shots. What was going through your mind?

ANGEL YIN: When I was dropping shots? I've just been hitting my putts harder. The greens are slow. But to me, it's like I need to get it passed the hole. My putts will never go in if it's short. I'm just going to have to believe many myself to be able to come back and make it.

Unfortunately the pins were pretty tricky today, so where I hit my putts a bit hard it just kind of got away. That's okay. Those are things that are going to happen, and I can accept that and I have another day.

Q. You say the greens are slow. Is it because it rained yesterday and it's hot now?

ANGEL YIN: I think there's a lot of reasons why. Also the grass is continuously growing, especially in this weather, I guess. I don't know to be honest.

But yeah, I mean, as a player, I think it's slower than previous years because previous years, we can literally hit it off the green, and now, barely.

Q. What will you do tonight knowing how big tomorrow is? What will you actually do tonight?

ANGEL YIN: Go to physio because without my physio this week, I wouldn't be able to walk. So do that and just hang out and try to cool off.

Q. Before Thailand, you mentioned that you were struggling with your game but you did well in Thailand and now you find yourself in contention in Singapore. Is there anything that has changed over the last two weeks?

ANGEL YIN: Yeah, my physio. I mean, he is been hard-core needle my back. I've been doing Pilates but I haven't been stretching enough.

So my body's really tight. So I think that's resulting in a lot of tightness, which creates a lot of pain and restriction and we've been working a lot on that. It's obviously hot out, too. So it helps muscle relax, but I think that's the biggest reason to be honest.

Q. Sunday, being the last day, and the leaderboard being so tight, what do you think a player needs to do to actually win?

ANGEL YIN: Good golf and good luck. Honestly there's nothing much you can do to it. There's a lot of instances today where it was like one hole, I made this unbelievable up-and-down. That's skill and luck to me. So get lucky and get good.
