Q. After the first round of the HSBC Women's World Championship is Linn Grant, 4-under today. Can you talk about what went well?

LINN GRANT: I just felt really confident out there. I felt like last week my game is heading in the right direction, even though Sunday wasn't what I way hoped for. Going out today, I had that confidence with me. I just went with a lot of patience and had both my fingers crossed for the putts to roll in.

Q. The scores are pretty bunched together out there. What do you think it might be about this course that's a little trickier?

LINN GRANT: I think it plays really long, especially the par 5s. Doesn't really get into the momentum as easily. I think it plays long.

Q. You had an exciting win last year. How did that set up your goals for this season?

LINN GRANT: It helped me relax a little bit more going into the season. I'm going in with a bit more confidence, and I just feel like I know what I'm doing and I'm good enough to play out here.
