HSBC WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

February 25, 2026

Charley Hull

Republic of Singapore

Sentosa Golf Club

Press Conference

ANNIKA MAYERS: Joining me ahead of the HSBC Women's World Championship is Charley Hull.

Charley, you are coming off of an exciting win in Riyadh. Can you just talk about where you think your game is at right now?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I played very well in Riyadh. It was pretty good, and obviously I got in late here. So it's a bit of a rush but first time seeing the golf course today. Might take me a few days to acclimatise but we'll get there.

ANNIKA MAYERS: You are now ranked No. 3 in the world, which is the highest ranking for a British woman ever.

Can you just talk a bit about what that means to you and if you feel like you're still continuing to chase even higher?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it's pretty cool. Obviously my goal since I was always to be world No. 1.

But yeah, it's pretty cool that obviously got to No. 3. But I'm not really one to stare at rankings and stuff because it shifts all the time. I just look at, it think it's pretty cool, carry on, and crack on play golf.

ANNIKA MAYERS: You have a go-for-broke style of golf, and you're always playing really aggressively. Now that you've played the course, do you think that type of approach is going to work at this course?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I will it's actually playing a lot longer this year, the golf course Is. I think it's trickier. And there's a bit of rain, so the ball is not rolling out as much. But yeah, you can always play aggressive around here.

Q. What lessons from 2025 are you bringing back to the course this year?

CHARLEY HULL: I don't think my memory is actually quite that good. I can't really remember. I knew I come in fourth here last year.

But probably the main thing is just try and keep going on the golf course because it's so hot. That's the only probably thing that sticks in my mind.

Q. Congrats on the win in Riyadh.

CHARLEY HULL: Thank you.

Q. After nine holes, you said you had a helping of mashed potatoes.

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah.

Q. I'm curious, if you're in contention this week, are you going to try something similar or maybe try a local flavour? Chicken rise or something?

CHARLEY HULL: To be fair, I was just really, really hungry coming through the nine holes there. I feel like the heat this week kind of doesn't make me as hungry. So I'll probably just stick with a banana.

Q. The SKY Sports golf broadcast promo this year of this week, they said, "Will 2026 be Charley Hull's year? Will she win her first major?" Your form last season, has it grown the expectations that much, and what do you expect out of yourself? Do you think you are ready to win a major?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I always like really want to win a major. That's my goal. Obviously had quite a lot of second-place finishes in majors. I'll get there. Just carry on enjoying and not put too much pressure on myself. It's just a game at the end of the day.

Q. You've got a big birthday coming up next month. How are you planning to celebrate?

CHARLEY HULL: I don't really celebrate birthdays. It doesn't really bother me, to be fair. It's just another day, really, as I see it.

Probably just have more -- just have my family and friends over to my house for a barbecue or something. Mainly because I'm having my house renovated. So I just might as well have a few around, and have it for my 30th, as well.

Q. Congratulations on your win in Saudi. I know you won a big trophy. Can you just say if there's any update on the trophy?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I think it will be finished by the 18th of March. So I still don't know about it, really. I haven't really been to my house in Kettering. I went up there once to have a look at it. It's going really well.

Just having my walk-in wardrobe built at the minute, and now he's got to crack on to my trophy cabinet. It's quite heavy, so let's make sure he builds it strong enough.

Q. I know you got here a day late from some travel delays. Any details or anything you can add?

CHARLEY HULL: No. Just got here last night and that's about it, really.

ANNIKA MAYERS: Perfect. Thank you, Charley.
