THE MODERATOR: Joining me here today ahead of the 2026 Honda LPGA Thailand is Miyu Yamashita. Miyu, your first start at this tournament. What are you looking forward to this week?

MIYU YAMASHITA: (Through translation.) This is my first time here for the tournament, and first time in Thailand as well. So I'm really excited now and I am looking forward to doing knew best this week.

Q. You won Rolex Rookie of the Year last year. How does that give you confidence heading into this season?

MIYU YAMASHITA: Because I won last year and because of that, and I have an opportunity to play this tournament, I am very proud and very glad.

Q. You had a strong start two weeks ago at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. How do you feel like your game is right now?

MIYU YAMASHITA: I am really focused on the physical training, yeah, which I hope -- from the offseason until now, really focused to my physical training, and I hope it's going well with this tournament.

And my style is short play, and I hope I will do it well and normally I didn't want to change my style that much, so I will focus on variety of my short game.

Q. Can you tell is a little bit more about the physical training. What exactly are you focusing on? Is it weights and is it for the purpose of getting more distance with your shots?

MIYU YAMASHITA: I'm focused on the swing and lower part. Yes, I focus on the lower part, like muscle training, lower part. I focus on that in order to get more stable on my swing.

Q. You said it's the first time that you're playing here at Siam Country Club. Can you tell us how many practice rounds you've had and what are your first impressions of the course and what do you think is the pivotal hole?

MIYU YAMASHITA: It has lot of up and down, not specific hole, but overall it has up and down a lot and it's very hard to control.
