Q. What an emotional day. Difficult day to play, David. You grinded it out. That's David Toms. 17, that has to be an absolute highlight.

DAVID TOMS: Yeah, I mean, I started on the range this morning by far the best range session I had all week, pro-ams, whatever. Great.

But it was straight downwind. Get to the first tee and it was straight into the wind. Get over on No. 2, hit a good drive down there. My back goes out on the second shot. It was below my feet. So it impacted the rest of the day just flinching on it. You could see that with the driver.

7-iron down I was okay, wedge okay, but anything with a long club it was a tough day.

So to grind it out, and like you said, 17, that's just a bonus. It was meant to be if I made par there for sure.

Q. Go over the bunker shot there at 18.

DAVID TOMS: Again, I struggled with anything below my feet today. I had a really tough time, so I just dug in. I had plenty of green to work with. Just kind of chunk and run one of those shots, which you like those when everything is kind of nervy.

So just chunk and run out there and it got real close.

Q. You said yesterday not very good year, two good years, not David Toms standards. You found a little bit more motivation and didn't really talk about it. Deep down inside did you just question yourself? Did you ask yourself some tough questions to get motivated again?

DAVID TOMS: I'll go with what my daughter said. She said I switched from duck hunting in Arkansas to duck hunting in Oklahoma.
