WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 15, 2026

Chuc An Le

Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand

Quick Quotes

Q. What was your experience with this tournament this past week?

CHUC AN LE: Well, these three days, the three days the weather is good, but then getting to the last day it's really, really tough. Wind get really strong and it's a little windy -- it's a little rainy at the end, too.

I found it really tough. I've never played in this strong wind before. Yeah. So it's a ^ new ^ any experience for me and I think it's something new that I need to figure out and need to practice in more.

So, yeah.

Q. Because we had the wind changing all kinds of directions all day.

CHUC AN LE: Yes.

Q. So how hard was it to adjust?

CHUC AN LE: It really takes time actually. It's really hard to figure where the wind is going, and it could be like down the wind when you set up, but could be into the wind when you hit the ball. It's just really hard.

You just need to know when exactly the wind is going to go, yeah.

Q. I mean, they do call this place the windiest city in the world. So you've done well in this tournament.

CHUC AN LE: Yeah.

Q. How has it felt being in New Zealand in your experience?

CHUC AN LE: I mean, I've been playing in America, but next to America, New Zealand, it's the farthest from home for me. I think it's very different here back to -- it's very different here compared to back home in Vietnam.

I think it's a new experience and I love it here. The course and the conditions and the people here, I just love everything here, yeah.

Q. Nice learning experience, life experience. How has it felt have been heaps of news coverage and heaps of fans back home in Vietnam supporting you?

CHUC AN LE: I mean, it's always been a pleasure. I've been playing a lot of tournaments inside the country and outside the country, and I've always had their support behind me. I think it's just very warm, and I just know that even if I play bad or good, they're always there for me, yeah.

Q. Nice. Because you are the only Vietnamese golfer here.

CHUC AN LE: Yeah.

Q. So what does it mean for some up-and-coming women's golfers back home?

CHUC AN LE: I think there is some good kids or developing, and I think -- well, I think I can like inspire them for them to maybe come and play Women's Amateur Asia Pacific the next few years and make some history.

Q. Definitely set the blueprint for them, a steppingstone, so that's really cool.

CHUC AN LE: Yeah.

Q. I won't keep you too long. What's been the highlight of the week for you? Could be on the course, off the course, something you've really enjoyed.

CHUC AN LE: I think this course give me a really unique experience. It's like the most interesting thing for me, yet the most hardest thing is the wind here. Like I cannot know like when is the wind going to go which direction, and it's very interesting because I -- if I get a chance I want to play here once again, to, yeah, challenging.

And, yeah, it's been really fun.
