WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 15, 2026

Jeneath Wong

Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand

Quick Quotes

Q. Jeneath, thank you so much for joining us. You finished your week here at the Women's Amateur Asia Pacific. Can you sum up the experience for us?

JENEATH WONG: The tournament is always really fun to play in. In this round, with the winds being very gusty I thought it was a lot of fun.

Q. Talk to us about what it was like to come into such a big championship as the defending champion? Was it a different experience to just your week-to-week normal college golf?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, definitely. I have a really special place for this tournament, and as defending champion I think I didn't put too much pressure on myself this week. I just kind of enjoyed it. So, yeah.

Q. Do you feel like you learned a lot from the experience?

JENEATH WONG: Yeah, definitely. It's a totally different golf course, different country, so you just have to adapt to it.

Q. What was the highlight of the week for you? Could be on the course, off the course. What's the one thing you loved about this week?

JENEATH WONG: Oh, just playing with different players and different weather conditions. I think it's so fun doing that.

Q. Very good. Yeah, can I ask you, what does it mean to you, and do you hope that you have inspired young girls back in Malaysia with your win last year and what you've done over the past 12 months?

JENEATH WONG: I think because golf in Malaysia isn't too big yet for girls, I think I inspired quite a few and am just letting them know that everything is possible, even like my size, too. Everything is possible.

Playing in all the majors, it's just really cool playing with all the top players in the world. So, yeah.

Q. What would you say to young girls in Malaysia that were thinking about giving golf a go?

JENEATH WONG: Just try it. It's fun. You get to meet a lot of people and travel around the world.

Q. Now, talk to us a little bit what does the future hold for you? What is next on your agenda and looking further afield what are you thinking about?

JENEATH WONG: So I graduate end of April this year. After that I'll go to Q-School in the States to see how I go.

Q. That sounds like this is the end of your WAAP career, which is sad for us but I'm sure very exciting for you.

JENEATH WONG: Yes. Yeah, it is really sad, but I'm always very honored to play this tournament.
