Quick Quotes
Q. Best round of the tournament so far. Can you take us through it?
VIVIAN LU: It was a bit of a rollercoaster today, but I figured I had nothing to lose so I took some risky shots today going for it an par-5s. I think I drove the green on 14.
Q. What's it like to take those sort of the shots and have them come off?
VIVIAN LU: It's very -- I don't know, makes me really happy. Like I like taking risky shots. I've always been more of a risk-reward player. It was good to finally be able to pull them off today.
Q. Obviously your best round of the tournament so far. Feel like it gives you some momentum heading into tomorrow?
VIVIAN LU: Yes. Obviously today is moving day so that was what was telling myself. Just try to go as low as I can.
But it's good momentum. Some of my putts -- more putts were dropping than before, so I'm excited for tomorrow.
Q. Mentioned you've been hitting it pretty well this week. Is that how it's felt?
VIVIAN LU: Yeah, I've been hitting it the best I have in a couple months, so I'm really happy.
Q. And I guess the putting, quite a few home have been coming in and saying the putting has been a challenge. Why do you think that is out here?
VIVIAN LU: I think the greens aren't rolling as quick as we're used to. That's because if the wind picks up the greens will roll really quick.
But the greens are also very undulating, so that's also part of it.
Q. And how I suppose enjoyable has it been for you to be competing and seeing some pretty good crowds out here at Royal Wellington?
VIVIAN LU: Yeah, I was actually walking down one of the holes with Caitlin and I was like, wow, I'm surprised this many people are out here watching. It's really cool that there are a lot of people watching women's golf.
Q. Yeah, I was just going to say, it's pretty much special. Shows how far the game has come. You do notice it as players?
VIVIAN LU: Yeah, some crowds are so huge and it's just so good to see people out here watching golf.
Q. And just lastly, looking at the final day, pretty good players up at the top of the leaderboard. If the wind comes in, how do you think that might affect play?
VIVIAN LU: Honestly I'm kind of hoping the wind picks up a little bit. Us Kiwi players grow up playing in the wind so it's more of an advantage for us. We can catch up quite a few shots.
I think the wind doesn't really pick up in Asia, so it's more of an advantage for us.
Q. Lastly, how much have you enjoyed the week being down here? I understand you're staying with people that you know.
VIVIAN LU: Yeah, I'm staying with the Wilsons who I've known for many years, so it's really nice to stay with them. Marina has got great cooking skills, so we've been eating really good.
