Quick Quotes
Q. I guess firstly, back-to-back 1-unders. Talk us through that round for us.
DARAE CHUNG: Yeah, I started off pretty slow actually. Made a bogey on 4 and then another bogey on 5.
But I stuck to my process with my caddie and then we made a birdie on...
Q. 6.
DARAE CHUNG: 6. Thank you for that. Yeah, made a birdie on 10 and got into a groove and then my last five holes I made three birdies to finish strong.
Q. It's back-to-back days where you managed to shoot five birdies out there. Obviously feeling like you can attack the course.
DARAE CHUNG: Yeah, for sure. I know this course like the back of my hand. I know where the birdies can come out and where I might need to be a bit more conservative and just try and make par.
Yeah, I think I executed a lot of my strategies good out there and just made some good putts.
Q. And 3-under on the last five holes. Must have been an enjoyable stretch to finish.
DARAE CHUNG: For sure. My irons were really good in the last five holes. When you're on a roll like that you just attack the pins. I was fortunate to make a few of those putts and pretty happy with the result.
Q. Tied for 21st. Sort of right in and around there. One round to go. How you sort of the feeling in the tournament in general?
DARAE CHUNG: Yeah, I mean, everything is so well organized here and I love how the course is setup. Especially early in the conditions. It was really windy today. A lot of rain yesterday. The course is holding up really good and I feel like some good scores can be played.
Yeah, there is one more round so just clean up my game a little, rest well, and come out here tomorrow with a fresh mind.
Q. I guess you know this course so well. The condition it's in at the moment must be as good as you've ever seen it?
DARAE CHUNG: Yeah, John Spraggs is the head greenkeeper here. He has done such a great job to set up the course as it is. The pin positions out there, they put in really tricky places, so really strategically put them out there for us to face the challenge.
Q. What's it been like for you to have your parents and friends out here following you and playing with the golf NZ logo on your shirt?
DARAE CHUNG: It's really special. I can't really describe into words. I feel like you can't really set this up on purpose. Just the fact that I'm able to be out here, I'm so grateful. Yeah, just trying to soak up every minute out here playing in front of family and friends.
Q. One day to go. Looks like the weather is sort of behaving. Hopefully lots of Wellingtonians get out and support the event.
DARAE CHUNG: 100%. It's free access so I'm sure a lot of people can come in. Tomorrow is Sunday and a lot of people might not have work, so I hope more people come out.
It seems a little bit colder tomorrow but, yeah, us Kiwis are used to it. I'm sure we'll have fun out there.
