Quick Quotes
Q. Looked like a pretty solid scorecard. Could you tell us a little bit more about that round today?
JENEATH WONG: I only had one birdie and it was the first hole of both nines, so bogey-free today.
Q. So I guess we would probably tend to believe you must have had it pretty well and played pretty consistent. Is that the case?
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, I hit 17 greens and only managed to have two birdies.
Q. What do you put that down to? Tough greens out there?
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, definitely. I struggled with the putting, getting the lines and speed to match.
Q. Talk about the greens as well. They're not exactly straightforward.
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, very undulating, especially 18. From the back it doesn't look too bad, but once you step off it's a dip right before the pin.
Q. Obviously set the course up different today. Can you tell us about some of the holes that are playing differently?
JENEATH WONG: 14 they th moved in from so I managed to hit it on the green with driver today. And then the wind was actually opposite from yesterday so made the course a bit different.
Q. Yeah. Talk about that wind and how strong it got in places.
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, it got strong probably on the back nine. Holes 12 and 13 played exceptionally long. I had 4- and 5-hybrid in on those holes.
Q. How much different does it make this course when the wind gets up?
JENEATH WONG: Oh, quite different I think. Rather than a wedge you're pulling out like a hybrid into these tough greens.
Q. Can you talk to us a little bit about your 16th hole?
JENEATH WONG: Oh, 16, I pulled it left in the bunker. Kind of carried the pin to the back and then I chipped in for par.
Q. And I guess just more overlooking generally what's it been like to come back here as the defending champion of such a prestigious tournament?
JENEATH WONG: It's always an honor, and representing Malaysia and making history for the country is always really good, but I'm just really happy to be here.
Q. I guess sometimes it can be a bit more pressure being the defending champ. Has it been a bit of a privilege as well to have people knowing you're the champion?
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, I think this week just having fun, not too much pressure.
Q. What are you seeing at the top of the leaderboard? Three Korean girls are up there at the moment.
JENEATH WONG: Yeah, probably finish strong tomorrow.
Q. Last round tomorrow. What are you looking forward to?
JENEATH WONG: Heard the winds will be pretty strong so I guess just flighting the ball pretty low so I won't get too affected.
Q. Finally, how have you enjoyed New Zealand and being here in this country?
JENEATH WONG: Really cool. The weather just like Melbourne, unpredictable. My family is here which makes it really nice.
Q. So they've been following you?
JENEATH WONG: Yeah.
