WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 13, 2026

Gyu Been Kim

Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand

Quick Quotes

GYU BEEN KIM: From the moment I made four consecutive birdies, I started thinking about the mistakes I made yesterday. I stayed calm and focused, and that helped me add two more birdies.

My putting was exactly how I wanted it to be. I made several putts from about 4 to 5 meters, and I was solid from around 3 meters without any mistakes.

This is my first time playing in the WAAP and also my first overseas tournament. It’s also my first event of the year.

Normally, I would try to manage the course more conservatively, but this time I’m going to play more aggressively.
