WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 12, 2026

Yunseo Yang

Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand

Quick Quotes

Q. Thanks for having the time today. Tell us about how your round went, round one.

YUNSEO YANG: I didn’t know if I would be able to shoot this kind of score in the first round. In the second half, some short birdie putts dropped, which helped me post a good score.

I played practice rounds on this course for two days. I believed that “you need to know the course well to score well.” I felt that two rounds weren’t enough. As I continue to play more rounds, I think I’ll get to know the course better. Rather than playing aggressively, I plan to play more conservatively and steadily.

Even after finishing the round, I reminded myself that “it’s only the first day.” I plan to focus on each day as it comes. I’ll concentrate on the ball in front of me. If I do that, I think good results will follow.
