WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 12, 2026

Guntas Sandhu

Heretaunga, Wellington, New Zealand

Quick Quotes

Q. Tell us a little bit how that round went for you.

GUNTAS SANDHU: It was a decent round; 71 under par. Could have done better.

Yeah, the putting was decent I would say.

Q. Can you just walk us through maybe one of your best holes of that round you just had, and why?

GUNTAS SANDHU: My best hole was the par-3 because I hit it given on the hole, use the slope, and I loved it a lot.

Q. Awesome. What from today can you learn from that round and take towards maybe tomorrow's rounds?

GUNTAS SANDHU: I would like to learn patience. Patience is the key. Yeah, like be more patient and drop a few more putts. Yeah, just learn from the past.

Q. Were there any holes that you would do differently now that you played your first round?

GUNTAS SANDHU: No. Like my planning remains the same. And, yeah, I plan it exactly the same as I wanted.

Q. What does it feel like having this New Zealand crowd here cheering you on?

GUNTAS SANDHU: Yeah, it was a wonderful experience, like first time seeing like a crowd walking amongst us, so a little under pressure on like first few holes, but it was nice.

Q. And so what does it feel like playing here with some of the best amateurs from around the world and you representing India?

GUNTAS SANDHU: It's a great feeling. Playing on such a big platform with such nice players, yeah, it's an amazing feeling to play.
