TPC Scottsdale

Quick Quotes

Q. Another solid day. 5-under today. What was working best for you out there?

SI WOO KIM: Was putting great start the round and then it helps me a little more confidence, and then I hit a great shot on third hole. That eagle makes me like keep going and helps me confidence as well.

So, yeah, it was tough from beginning until 15 and I make birdie 15. That helps me like a little more get going.

Then it was good round, and then tough -- some holes really tough pin. I think tomorrow has tough pin as well, so looking forward tomorrow as well.

Q. Do you think this is the best you've ever swung?

SI WOO KIM: Yes, I think so. Yeah, I've been playing good last couple years but I didn't -- somehow I didn't finish great. So that was little frustrated part.

But I played great and somehow I think it's manage better than last couple years. I think that's why I finish better.

Yeah, I'm playing really good iron shots right now, really good driving, so I'm feel very comfortable my game.

Q. You've always been a great ball-striker. What have you done differently to take it even higher?

SI WOO KIM: I think trying to get more consistency. Swings used to be like too much layoff. I don't know where comes down. Next day completely loose.

And then I know like where my backswing is, I know where club head is now, so that makes me really comfortable with my swing and consistency.

So I think that helps me playing better consistency goal.

Q. Did you do anything on Thursday, fix something afterward to play like you have the last two days?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, first day it looks really -- fairway looks really tight and a little wet. I feel like I'm going to chunk it, so I hit a lot of thin shot and didn't get to my yardage.

That was really struggle. Even Friday first hole I was scared to hit the ground so I hit it thin and keep short. So I think just change the mind, I am just going to mind no matter what hit the chunk. Just going to try to flush the ground. I think that helps me like little bit change it.

Q. You never hit actually a chunk...

SI WOO KIM: Yes.

Q. Does that happen often?

SI WOO KIM: No, it's always west coast a little bit because really tight and it's get firmer. But it looks little wet on Thursday. I think that makes me a little nervous.

Q. What gives you the most confidence heading into tomorrow?

SI WOO KIM: I think it's putting. I've been putting -- I mean not really great, but I putt consistency, so I think I'm getting close to win. I've had a chance to win last three weeks, so maybe the experience help.

So we'll see.
