Q. You have just won on your LIV Golf league debut, the first time since Henrik Stenson back in 2022. You were first in fairways, first in greens. We saw the emotion. How does it feel?

ELVIS SMYLIE: It's a dream come true. I really didn't know what to expect this week. Playing at night is obviously a whole different ballgame out here.

I wanted to come out here and make a statement. I wanted to prove that I'm one of the best out here, and I feel like I've done that, and it's only up from here.

Q. We caught up with your sister who was watching you, and she was saying that obviously growing up you had parents both previously very successful athletes and they instilled in you that mindset the fact that second place is first loser, and you combined that beautifully with that calm exterior. Give us a sense of some of the emotions that you were going through out there.

ELVIS SMYLIE: Yeah, on the outside I probably looked quite calm and composed, and that's something that I work hard on with my sports psych back at home, Michael Lloyd. I really just tried to embrace every moment tonight. I knew there was a world-class field trying to chase me down.

I've got so many amazing people around me, and it's a special feeling.

Q. In terms of that world-class field, you firmly put your stamp on the LIV Golf league. What does this give you in terms of confidence moving forward into the rest of the season?

ELVIS SMYLIE: It gives me a huge amount of confidence, going back home next week to Adelaide. It's going to be really exciting playing in front of a home crowd.

The great thing with LIV is it's a global tour. You're playing so many different courses and so many different countries, and being able to experience it all with the Ripper guys is going to be very cool and an experience I can't wait for.

Q. A cool full circle moment for you with Cam Smith and that being your scholarship leader and your mentor as a junior golfer.

ELVIS SMYLIE: Yeah, it's awesome. I got awarded the scholarship back in 2019 where I got to go and spend a week with him in Jax where he lives and just seeing what life is like being one of the best golfers in the world, and we've kept in touch the last couple years, and we've been paired together a lot of times.

He's world-class at what he does, and I feel like I have so much to learn from him, and I feel like I'm only going to get better and better.
