LIV GOLF RIYADH

February 6, 2026

Sebastian Munoz

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Riyadh Golf Club

Torque GC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Sebastian Muテアoz from Torque GC. Great round today, 4-under par 68. Can you take us through your round?

SEBASTIAN MUテ前Z: Yeah, thank you. It started a bit slow with a bogey on No. 2. I hit a bad bunker shot. Then after that I made some good birdies and kept it moving along. The wind came over, and I was able to kind of keep my focus and keep hitting good shots and keep giving myself good chances, and made some birdies on the back.

Then I made some solid pars coming in. So really happy where the game is at. Really happy where I'm at on the leaderboard, and looking forward to the next two days.

Q. Torque GC trending well this week; you are 27 under par, second. You've had a couple of chances with Abe Ancer coming into the team. Do you think that's made a difference, and what would a win this week mean to you?

THOMAS DETRY: Yeah, we added Abe in the off-season. He's been a great addition. He's a guy that we all liked a lot, that we've been friends for a long time, as well, and he's a guy that's really solid. He's very strong mentally.

We can depend on him a lot, the same way that he can depend on us.

Really positive team for Torque, and we're in a good position, and we need eight good scores coming in.

Q. Seb, you won the league's last 54-hole event. Now that it's 72 holes, have you taken a bit of a different mindset? Is there a bit of an adjustment to have an extra round there?

SEBASTIAN MUテ前Z: Not really. From my perspective, you've got to shoot the best score in front of you. Either it's one hole or 18 or 54, 72. You've got to just keep it simple and do the best you can with the single shot you're focusing on.

Having added an extra round, I feel like it could be a little longer. It could be a little more challenging keeping that mental strength and keeping that heart pretty calm through the emotions of being in the lead.

But at the same time, it kind of opens the door to more people. You can have an iffy round and still have a shot at winning the tournament.

Right now, I played pretty solid the last two days, and one back with two more days to go. It feels the same, to be honest. I played a lot of four-day events, as well. It's just numbers.

Q. You played well here last year at night, obviously playing well this week. The two times you've come here during the day haven't been as good. Do you feel better playing here at night than during the day?

SEBASTIAN MUテ前Z: Yeah, funny thing, I was thinking about it today when I was playing, and I was just thankful that I was playing better at night than during the day. But I don't know why. I haven't had an idea. I feel like at night it's just a little -- it challenges you in a different way, probably in a new way for everyone, from your visuals.

I feel like just focusing on what I can control has helped me a lot in these five rounds at night, and hopefully I can make it seven.

Q. You competed here last year, and you're here this year, as well. Can you tell us what are the differences on and off the course in what you've seen so far?

SEBASTIAN MUテ前Z: Yeah, there's a little bit. I feel like the course is a lot better. I feel like the whole organization has put a lot of effort into making this place a legit worldwide event, and the quality of the greens have improved a lot, the quality of the grass. The new water features on the course and the extra lights that we've seen this year makes it a lot more attractive visually.

I feel like it's becoming the pearl of the desert is what's written somewhere. It's really nice that I've seen all the passion and all the work being put out here. It's showing off.

Q. You touched on it a little bit, but can you also tell us in terms of being in the lead, what it took today in order for you to be there, and what is it going to take from you to stay at the top for the coming two days? And can you give us also some opinions about what's it like to play at night here at Riyadh?

SEBASTIAN MUテ前Z: Sure. Yeah, I've been playing good golf. I feel like for you to have a good chance here, you have to hit a lot of fairways and give yourself good looks. I feel like once you get into a rhythm with a putter you can make a lot of birdies out there.

I feel like in order to do that in the next couple days, you've got to trust all your work that you've put in and commit to simple ideas. I feel like I've done that in the past pretty good, so just hoping that I can keep on adding to that.

Playing night golf here in Riyadh is awesome. It's the only time of year that we do it. It's the only tournament that I've ever played at night, and either the laser shows, the music, the DJs, it's a lot going on, but it's fun. I like it. Some people might find it distracting; I don't. I actually feel like it's easier to focus with all that going on, and I just kind of flow in it.
