Q. Thomas, first in your first LIV event. Obviously Dustin Johnson must be exceptionally proud, being his captain's pick. You gave up a full-time PGA TOUR card to play on the LIV league. What are your first impressions?

THOMAS DETRY: Amazing. Really cool. I've always loved the team atmosphere. I remember when I was playing in college, playing for myself, playing for something more than myself, carrying the team, was always something that I loved to do.

I feel like I'm having that same feeling out here. Even though you're having a bad day or anything can happen, you're still fighting and you know that 6 is better than a 7.

No, really cool to play for the team and really cool to be out here with some of the guys and playing with DJ and my good friend Thomas Pieters, as well. It's been a dream start of the new job.

Q. What's happening now? I know it's late, so do you just pull up a tent over here and camp out for the night or go hit some golf balls or is it straight to bed?

THOMAS DETRY: Well, we're teeing off at 6:15, so I've been trying to stay up as late as possible. Last night I tried to stay up past 1:00 a.m., but I crashed at 1:00 a.m. but I think I'm just going to get some more food, maybe do a little bit of putting.

There's no rush getting back home because as soon as I'm back in my hotel room, I'm falling asleep. Just going to take it easy, take my time, do a bit of putting and then get ready for a good day tomorrow.
