Q. Nelly, you told me earlier this week this tournament was an opportunity for to you assess where your game is at. What did you learn about this state of your game starting this new year?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, Thursday, Friday, were obviously completely different conditions to Saturday. But overall, I was very happy with my game. Kind of led into it really nicely where I saved the best for last I guess.
But, yeah, the first tournament of the season is always tough. You're working on stuff and you kind of test it out, but at the end of the day like you're going in for that trophy. Mentally you're here 100%, and you kind of have to let go of all the technique that you worked on and you have to just commit.
In the conditions yesterday, like you really had to commit to your shots there.
Q. After a year of facing questions, mounting pressure about when you would win again out here on Tour, what's the significance of that victory for you?
NELLY KORDA: It feels amazing. I'm just super proud of Jason and I yesterday for how we fought those conditions. For my team. I wouldn't be here without them. We're all pieces of a puzzle. I wouldn't be who I am without them. Just so grateful.
And to be able to do it here at Lake Nona, I mean, the conditions were so amazing. We have to thank the superintendent for making this golf course just so world class.
And then Mark and Hilton Grand Vacations for believing in us, for always coming in every year and raising the bar, and for us having such an amazing time.
And Aaron and his team for just putting on an amazing tournament.
So we have so many people to thank, and that's what makes the LPGA so great. We all come together, we believe in had the vision, and we all execute.
Q. Exciting watching you execute this week. Congratulations. I know it's heavy but let's see you hoist this trophy. Nelly Korda, winner the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
