January 20, 2026

Novak Djokovic

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Press Conference

N. DJOKOVIC/P. Martinez

6-3, 6-2, 6-2

THE MODERATOR: We'll go with questions.

Q. Congrats on win number 100. Is the mind and body feeling as good as it can for the fortnight ahead?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: It felt good tonight. Let's see how it's going to feel in a few days' time. Performance-wise, the feeling on the court, it was great. I couldn't ask for more. Obviously a great serving performance. Just overall felt really good on the court that has made me feel good on it for so many times throughout my career.

So let's see what comes my way in few days' time.

Q. You gave us plenty of highlights tonight. I want to ask you about the one where you jumped off the ground and slapped a 176-kilometer-per hour-forehand winner. I saw the smirk come onto your face.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I actually thought of Monfils. That's why I smiled.

Q. Talk me through it.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: There's nothing much to talk. In addition to that because I connected well, and I didn't hit too many of those in my career, but Gael did. We've seen him so many times in highlights. When I did that, he crossed my mind first. I was like, Now I know how he feels (smiling).

Yeah, it felt good, definitely.

Q. I don't know if you've seen the videos of Carlos Alcaraz's serve. He said he can see the similarities to your serve. Do you have any thoughts on his new motions and how the motions worked for you?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: As soon as I saw it, I sent him a message. I said, you know, We have to speak about the copyrights. Then when I saw him here, I told him we have to talk about percentage of his winnings. Every ace I expect, you know, a tribute to me. Every ace that he makes here. Let's see if he's going to stick to the agreement (smiling).

Q. You've spoken tonight about your love for playing on Rod Laver. In a few days' time there's a bit of a logjam. Alex and Carlos are going to be playing the same day. All three can't play on Rod Laver. What is your thought on the scheduling there? I daresay you'd want to remain there?

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I think you know the answer, right? You should ask the tournament organizers that question. I'm not one making the schedule. You know what my preference is.
