Quick Quotes
M. INGLIS/N. Osaka
W/O
Q. Naomi, obviously disappointing news that you've had to withdraw with a left abdominal injury. Can you explain a little bit about the injury, how it's feeling, when you first felt it? Just a bit of information, please.
NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, I mean, it's an injury I've had a couple of times before, and I thought I could push through it. I played my last match with some pain, and I thought maybe if I gave myself a break before my match today, I would be able to handle it, but I warmed up, and it got a lot worse, so yeah.
Q. Is there any prognosis that you've managed to get yet from the doctors, or is it a case of doing more tests or anything like that to see sort of if it's long-term or what the next steps are?
NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, I mean, I definitely have to do more tests, and obviously I think coming back from pregnancy, my body changed quite a lot. So this is something I have to be really cautious of.
Yeah, I just have to, I guess, talk with a couple of doctors.
Q. Obviously not the way you wanted to exit the tournament, but obviously some great memories from the first couple of rounds both with your outfit and your walk-on, but also the way you were playing. Just talk us through a little bit some of the things you've enjoyed most about your time here in Melbourne this year.
NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, I mean, I think for me obviously it was nice that everyone enjoyed my outfit, but also, I enjoyed playing the tennis here. I played two three-set matches, and I felt really physically healthy. Well, I guess, not my ab, but just fitness-wise it felt really good.
Yeah, I'm just grateful to be otherwise very healthy, and I hope that I'm able to play some good tennis for the rest of the year.
