HERO DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC

January 24, 2026

Andy Sullivan

Dubaii, UAE

Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club

Press Conference

Q. Andy, a 71 out there at the Emirates today. It felt like a tale of two nines. Is that how it felt like for you as well?

ANDY SULLIVAN: Yeah, I just struggled off the tee that front nine. I couldn't get it in the fairway. Like I said yesterday, if you can't get it in the fairway, it's hard to get it close and make birdie.

It was a bit of a struggle. Battled a little bit better. Still hit it in the rough a little bit the first nine holes, just over-fading it in the right rough. Second nine holes, straight into the left rough.

So I cured it; I over-cured it, but you know, looking back, 71 probably stole a couple there to be honest with you. I wasn't at it, and Pat played absolutely brilliant. Happy with the situation I'm in to be honest.

Q. Patrick is a few ahead of you. If you were to go low here tomorrow, what's the key for you?

ANDY SULLIVAN: Just drive it better. When I put it in the fairway, I gave myself chances today.

So tomorrow, I know I can go low around here. Did it before. Did it this week. It's just about putting it in the fairway for me. Get off to that good start, put it in the fairway and give myself chances. If Pat plays the way he did today, he'll be difficult to catch, but tomorrow is a different day and we'll see how it goes.
