HERO DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC

January 22, 2026

Mikael Lindberg

Dubaii, UAE

Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club

Press Conference

Q. 67 to start your week in Dubai. Try and assess your day out there for us.

MIKAEL LINDBERG: It was a great day. It was very good. We're off to a very hot start and holed a few good putts there in the beginning and then kind of slowed down a little bit. But managed to birdie the last. That was good.

Q. Describe the conditions. Because definitely the wind has picked up today. How did that feel out there for you?

MIKAEL LINDBERG: I felt like the wind was pretty strong already from the beginning. And it feels like it's picking up even more now. But it was definitely tough out there. I don't think they cut the greens today due to the high winds. But it's firm; it's quick; it's tricky. Yeah, it's tough.

Q. You are an extremely long driver of the ball, fourth in driving distance last year. How much of an advantage is that for you around here?

MIKAEL LINDBERG: I mean, the rough is quite heavy. So the further up you go, the shorter you have left. So I think here, especially when the fairways are pretty narrow, I think it's a pretty big advantage, if you can keep the ball in play, which I did today.
