Quick Quotes
Q. Here defending your title, how do you feel being on course here?
TYRRELL HATTON: It's great to be back. This is a special tournament for me and one that I've always enjoyed going to play. So, yeah, great memories from last year, and hopefully I can put up a good defence.
Q. When you look at the history of this tournament, some of the winners, now you're part of that, how does that make you feel?
TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, it is very surreal. Some amazing champions before me, and having my name on the trophy is amazing and something I'm very proud of.
Q. How do you go about approaching the defense of a title, especially with the field that's here this week?
TYRRELL HATTON: To be honest, it's the same as playing any other tournament. You always go out there and try your best, and if you play well, hopefully you give yourself a chance to win the tournament. It's the same golf for me this week and I'll try my best to do that.
Q. Your first start of the year. What will be the mindset going out this week as you look to progress in your career?
TYRRELL HATTON: Well, yeah, like you said, it's the first event of the season. I would imagine I'll be pretty rusty. I would like to say I would give myself a bit of a grace period if there's some bad shots but we all know that probably won't be the case. I'll try and stay patient with myself but hopefully I'll play some good golf.
Q. Given your schedule and opportunities you'll have this year on the DP World Tour, how important is it to take advantage of these types of weeks?
TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, I knew that that was going to be the case when I joined LIV a couple years ago; that I would have fewer opportunities to make The Race to Dubai and things like that.
So hopefully I can play well here and obviously take points on offer, with it being a Rolex Series, and I'll try my best to do that.
Q. You must be proud of how you've achieved that so far the last couple of years. You've had some really, really good result when is you've been out here.
TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, again, it's something I'm proud of the last couple of years, I've played well in these events and earnt a lot of points in the few starts I had.
Yeah, I've had two really good finishes on The Race to Dubai the last two seasons, and I'd love one year to finish higher than fourth. So, yeah, maybe this year might be the year.
