January 17, 2026

Kevin Roy

Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

Waialae Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Kevin, 69 today. Just to start, how good did it feel to birdie the last hole?

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, felt really. I did not leave myself in a good position there. Luckily had a pretty good lie and to try to get a little cute with it, and came out perfect when I hit it.

Certainly wasn't expecting to hit it to a tap-in. That kind of shot was just trying to give myself a good birdie opportunity. Yeah, it came out perfect.

Q. How would you assess the round as a whole?

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, a little bit better. I felt really good out there. You know, drove it fairly well. I don't really know my stats of hitting the greens. I know I had a couple good up and downs.

Yeah, it's hard. Wind feels like it's coming in every direction and a lot of shots into the greens are kind of a guess. Yeah, all in all I think it was pretty good.

Q. Do you watch leaderboards on a day like today?

KEVIN ROY: A little bit. Not really to be honest with you. You know, I know it's hard to take it deep right now with the wind and the course is kind of firming up.

So I checked it a few times, but not a ton.

Q. And lastly, just feeling good about everything going into tomorrow?

KEVIN ROY: Yeah, feel real good. I'm in a position where I really got nothing to lose, so just go out there and stick to our game plan and see where we stack up at the end.
